Just because life is beginning to look like a spec of what it used to, doesn’t mean it’s over

It’s been two years and people are more selfish and uncaring than I’ve ever seen in my thirty years of life.

I have suffered more loss, grief, trauma and heartache during this pandemic than I have ever experienced… and now I have COVID.

I have done EVERYTHING RIGHT from day one.

I’ve worn a mask, I’ve washed my hands, I have more hand sanitizer than I though possible, I’ve socially distanced, I’ve followed every single lockdown law, I’ve stayed home. Everything that experts recommended we do to help avoid the spread, I’ve done.

This virus doesn’t discriminate, it attacks whoever it can. I don’t have any pre existing health conditions that increase my risk, I’m young and I’m fully vaccinated.

I’m the sickest I’ve ever been in my entire life.

I’m angry, fuck I’m furious.

Not because I’m sick, but because I’m now having to isolate in a house with a loved one who is very high risk. I can potentially make someone I love very, very sick. All because I came to visit them before I had any symptoms.
