Pleased to announce Liquid and Powder (myself and collaborator Hugo Garcia) will be part of the forthcoming issue of TOURETTE_journal issue 00 (Politecnico di Torino, Italy).

We will be part of the REPRESENTATION section (editorials by Perry Kulper and Neil Spiller). Our call for papers deals with the issue of Utopia – looks nice on paper, but how does it fare in shifts in scale? Add to it the attitudes of contemporary aesthetics. How would one go about constructing the representation of Utopia in that (lack of) context?
Special thanks to Hugo. Working on a fledgling practice is a long-suffering and thankless job. (But now you can say you are published!)
It was Hugo’s idea to tackle on the notion of Utopia through representation. Well done.
If this grind is getting you you down, perhaps you can become a spoon maker.

Most influential teacher I've had, now the Director of University of Tennessee School of Architecture.
He is the reason I went into teaching. If I ever made any positive ripple in my students' growth and development, it is all thanks to Jason. I just pass on what was given to me.
Couldn't be happier about this news. Those lucky kids :D
One more work session with my collaborator and production mode starts.
This is the best part. Check out. Tune out the bullshit. And just do.
Normally, I'd say, "doing what you want" is starting out with 90% bullshit and 10% bliss of the work you actually want to do. You've just gotta work your butt off to set up the situation for which the bliss work can happen. And the percentage improves.
Because, "There will be no blows not freestyle / This style is not free, this style is expensive"
This part can't start until the idea 'sticks', meaning, you wake up in the morning and it's still good.
Saw the opportunity, so I took it.
Readers, like voicemail leavers and card writers, are now a dying breed, their numbers decreasing with every GIF list and online tabloid.
Bit heavy on the romantic bend than I'd like for a tumblr for my students... but the message is good and true.
There really is no replacement for reading.

I was told to consider aesthetics as a function of use. Didn't understand why then, and can't say I do comfortably now. But I still think about it all the time. I think the key is to consider the bias of applying aesthetics to things.
Watching the game with K, J and H. Had to crop out sensitive info.
For my newly recruited research assistants,
To get the gist of my palette,
Please watch Ballast, read The Rhizome, look up the biography of Anton Chekhov, and listen for the structure within Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid M.A.A.D City.
And if you still have time, find out about the stand off at Wounded Knee 1973.
Saw that the Anime Expo is this weekend. Made me think of JCR (JCR, do you even check this?)
