He tapped his fingers on the table, middle finger, ring finger, thumb, pointer, pinky, and then back again. “That’s fine. You can take your time to think about what you wana say. No rush.” Kasey gave him a small smile and sat up straight. “I’m Kasey. What’s your name? We can start with that.”

He figured it’d be best to calm the poor guy down with small talk before…well, talking about anything else.

“Wizard...Call me Wizard.”

He sure as hell wouldn’t be giving his name away so easily, not to a stranger. Especially not to one that he’d seen come in a couple times for services.

A somewhat nervous look flashed in his eyes briefly.

“…Ah, I didn’t mean to…I hope I didn’t…offend you….I’m not used to…being around people.”

Gale drank his coffee black, generally. Today was no exception.

“My trainer…” he murmured,eyes drifting to the ceiling. “…Don’t know…? Don’t think I have one…”

“It’s all good, promise.” She reassured him. “You’ll get used to it, in time. Everyone does, just at their own pace. Nothing wrong with it.”

She didn’t mind black coffee. Heck, Angela drank any sort of coffee, so long as it could actually be ingested. Upon hearing her companion didn’t have a trainer, Angela tilted her head. 

“Maybe you should look into getting one? It could help with the people thing. But that’s all up to you man.”

“I...Yeah, I do need one...” he murmured, staring down into his cup. “I...don’t know who I would ask, really.”

Pausing, the man played with the mug restlessly, wiggling it around in his grasp.

“When you were new...were you...scared?”

Well. This was uh. Something.

He was certainly cute, that’s for sure but… All Kasey honestly wanted was Coffee and conversation today, which he was glad he could get at this place. What he got though, was a timid-looking guy who couldn’t seem to stop shaking. “Uh…Hey are you alright…?” Kasey asked, kind of concerned. He’d only ever seen this reaction whenever his father got angry at one of his employees.

He sighed and sat down in the chair, lounging he kept his hands flat on the table. “I’m not gonna do anything man, I just wanna talk today. That cool with you?”

Gale tried to steady his trembling hands, keeping his gaze focused into his cup of coffee. 

He’d tried to speak several times, wanting to say something to the effect of ‘I’m not available, I want to be fired, I don’t speak English, goodbye.’

After a short interjection from the brunette about not doing anything, Gale’s shoulders seemed to relax from their tense position.

“...I....I’m not a good speaker...also...Good..I, uh...Haven’t been auctioned yet, so...”

Angela waved a hand dismissively. “Just an expression, forget about it.” She almost laughed. Wow, he sure took things literally didn’t he? She put both her hands up when he mentioned the closeness. “Not to close, got it.”

Just to prove her point, she sidestepped away from him as he got up. Clasping her hands in front of her, the brunette stretched while her companion grabbed the coffee, thanking him as he handed her a mug. 

“I’m going to be……bad at this job.”

“Naaah.” Angela shook her head, taking a sip of the coffee. “It takes some getting used to, yeah, but your trainer’ll make sure you aren’t bad at anything. Promise.” She winked. “Who is your trainer anyways?”

Magic || Wizard and ?

Eve was lying in bed starring at the ceiling, she had woken up unexpectedly when she rolled over and hit her head off the wall. Stupid single beds… maybe she would save up to buy one of the beautiful king beds they had in the pleasure rooms, though she wasn’t sure it would fit in the small space she called her own, never mind whether it would leave enough floor space. Maybe she could just get away with buying fluffier pillows, and stack them all next to the wall so she would wake with a smoosh rather then a bang. Debating whether or not she should rouse and get a drink, the blonde was encouraged when she heard a creak in the floor just outside her room. Someone else was awake too? Slipping out from under her covers, and not even paying attention to the fact she was wearing only a man’s t-shirt, Eve rubbed her eyes and made her way to the door, Peeking outside she saw a figure frozen not to far away. It wasn’t completely dark, because there was light coming off the figure’s body. Eve had heard about a new comer with the strange tattoos, but she didn’t know his name as they hadn’t actually met before. “Everything okay?” She whispered, stepping out of her room completely and walking the few steps over to where he was standing.

Convinced for a moment that he’d made it without waking a fellow resident, Gale sighed in evident relief, only to let out a sharp gasp when he looked up and made eye contact with the woman in front of him. 

“A-ah?”

The man looked mildly embarrassed, covering his eyes just slightly so he wouldn’t have to look at her getup. He knew he was being much too modest, likely, but he’d never quite gotten used to the clothing, or lack thereof, that some seemed to wear. Staring down at his bare knees, he realized he wasn’t much better in his nightshirt.

“...I’m...Fine. I apologize if...I disturbed you at all...”

Not sure what to do, Gale lifted his head slightly, making an awkward wave. Might as well greet coworkers, right...?

“...I’m...Wizard.”

Magic || Wizard and ?

He guessed that at some point he'd fallen asleep in the lounge, because he woke up on a couch with bright lights glaring back at him disapprovingly. Shifting around, Gale cracked his back and neck, mumbling quietly like a sore old man before sitting up straight. Judging by how quiet it was, it had to be pretty early in the morning...People would probably be concerned if he wasn't in his room. Stepping into the dark hallway, the wizard allowed some of his magic to flow through him. It took a little longer than he'd have liked- he hadn't been using it that often here- but slowly his white, winding tattoos lit up like a glow stick, giving him a dim enough light to walk without falling. It was going swimmingly until he stepped a little too hard on a creaky floorboard, likely rousing someone.

Gale’s eyes widened a fraction, and he rolled over a little to see her better. He wasn’t familiar with the woman- not surprising, as he knew practically no one in the place other than that burly security guard, but he supposed it was time to make “acquaintances”, or something of the like.

Keeping a stony expression, the wizard looked at his hands uncertainly, not willing to put the energy into sitting up.

“….I drink enough for five…so I wouldn’t worry about the portions being insufficient.”

Biting his lip, the thin man yanked a bit at the collar of his thin night shirt. It was cold…

“It’s late…was your client keeping you this long…?” he asked with mild interest, gazing lethargically upon the brunette.

Her eyebrows raised at the comment. Drink enough for five? Well shit. So much for asking for some. “Remind me to not get between you and your coffee.” She joked, smirking. 

Her head tilted when he remarked on the time. It wasn’t that uncommon that a few of her coworkers were awake at this time. Maybe it was some collective off day that no one had decided to tell her about. Whatever.

Angela shrugged simply. “He was a latecomer, and I have a strict no-staying-the-night policy. They can save that bullshit for someone who actually cares for them. Me? I’m just here to play a role and make sure they’re more or less ok after. But yeah, I was with a client if that was what you’re asking.”

Gale’s face scrunched up in a mix of nervousness and confusion.

“Why would you...go between me and my coffee....? That’s...so close to my face...” Pausing for a moment, he swallowed a little. “You can have some...Just...don’t get too close to me.”

The man lazily stood up, stretching leisurely before making his way back to the coffee maker. Somewhat confident that she wouldn’t take interest in what he was doing, the wizard pressed his hands to the machine, watching the faint glow of his magic peek from the cracks of the coffee maker’s body.

Removing his hands, he poured two cups, handing one to the woman before finding his way back to the couch.

“....It’s done.”

His voice held a distinct detachment from the situation, as if he was mulling over something.

“I’m going to be......bad at this job.”

Gale hadn’t met anyone other than the boss here- he avoided coming out of his room at times when people were there. After all, all he was really doing for the place right now was cleaning and sucking up their coffee supplies. 

Venturing out into the hallways, Gale made his way through the labyrinthine mansion to the break room and flipped on the lights, rubbing his eyes after the sudden brightness lit up the room.

He sighed quietly, waiting for them to adjust, and then went and picked up the coffee pot.

Empty. Great.

Gale impatiently filled the carafe with water and dumped some coffee grounds into the filter, starting the machine a little roughly. He hadn’t slept for a couple weeks, so his demeanor was starting to become a little testy. Knowing it would take a while, the wizard climbed over the back of a couch, glancing at a pool table before flopping face down on the cushions.

At least no one would bother him at this hour.

Angela stretched as she wandered into one of the lounging rooms, hair still dripping from her recent shower. She had finished with a client not long ago and promptly kicked him out. Staying the night was not part of the deal with her, ever. The clingy-ness made her skin crawl.

She blinked in surprise as she noticed the lights were on. That was weird, for the time of night. That was when she noticed the other person brusquely tossing coffee grounds into the filter by the machine.

Coffee? Now? Really?

They hadn’t seen her apparently, while crawling over the back of the couch. The landing impact giving off a satisfied little ‘thump’. Angela took it upon herself to make her way over to the adjacent pool table, leaning against it with a bemused expression on her face. 

“I hope you made enough for two.”
