Honestly, that was all Komaeda wanted? He’d been worried about him? Hinata pursed his lips the minute he felt a sharp twinge inside his head, and a hand shot up to press against his forehead. The throbbing sensation was unsettling, and he didn’t like it in the least. His own voice and that flat tone seemed to intermingle within his conscious mind, shifting and changing before he seemed to straighten up, hands shaking slightly. As he fixed his gaze upon the ivory-haired male once more. That smile, it’d been something he’d expected. Nagito Komaeda was so predictable, Hinata didn’t care for it in the least.
"I believe you are mistaking our relationship. Someone as dull as you could never become acquainted with someone like me, who has been blessed by talent. Why are you addressing me so casually, Komaeda?” Nagito Komaeda was one of the few men who’d managed to make his head hurt without even attempting such thing. Most would call this an overreaction, but Hinata was unable to do anything to help himself. Almost as if he’d been trapped within the confines of his own, troubled mind.
Komaeda's gaze had become increasingly watchful of Hinata's movements and demeanors as the other male continued to act. . . strangely. It was difficult to put any sort of description to it, let alone a possible cause, but it prompted a mix of equal parts inquisitiveness, confusion, and worry as the situation progressed. Yes there had been a fair amount of snippier exchanges between them before but this was a far cry from anything he himself had seen before. He had also never asked Hinata for the story behind the sutures on his forehead, and moved to open his mouth and speak in response to the other boy's display of pain, before being cut off.
Jaw tightening visibly, he shifted, slitted his eyes sharply, and something like a grimace flickered across Komaeda's expression as he seemed to weigh a variety of possible reactions. An unexpected reply that was. "If I am mistaking something then it's certainly news to me, Hinata," His voice had settled out of displaying any emotional response, falling flat and mild, though he tilted his chin upwards marginally to fix Hinata with a bland stare. "Though I'm more wondering what prompted this sudden judge of our compared worth. Just deciding to put it out there now? Your spontaneity is breath taking."
