I finally completed my latest massive site overhaul in preparation for me getting back to comic work! Now my OCs have profiles and updated art so people can learn about them even if they haven't quite shown up in stories yet.
This has been a real labor of love! I hope people really like my stories and art!
Mixten Genetics and associated webcomics and characters created by FossilJockMatt.
Collective File: ULF-165-ELD
Designation: Shog
Species: ???
Research Notes: The creature refers to itself as a shoggoth. Lovecraftian lore and fantasy texts refer to them as servants of Eldritch gods. They are typically described as mindless piles of writhing flesh, but some "elevated" and more intelligent individuals have been described as being capable of complex thought. Shog seems to be the latter, often threatening containment teams in the Crypt. They are contained, but I can't help wonder for how long.
My new spiritmon.
What would you name this cutie?
Wanna see me draw a slimey little cutie pie?
Here's what's on the schedule for this week! I even included the Cytoplasm chibi we finished last week! Isn't she a cutey?
My weekend Baldur's Gate 3 streams have become increasingly popular! Come join in chat and be the voices in Orkestra's head!
New month, new battle. Who will win? Mixten or Olivia... Brains or Brawn? I can only keep the poll open for a week, but can actually weigh in all month in the comments! I'll tally the vote after.
Also, here's a special message from one of the competitors...
Who would win in this fight?
Olivia
Mixten
Meet my newest monster OC, the shapeshifting abomination, Shog!
As their name suggests, they are a shoggoth. They can morph their body into any horrific thing they can imagine and they have a voracious appetite. Their favorite food is frozen beef... they like the cold and the crunch!
Thanks for playing! I'll post the next round in February! You can follow along with the bracket at www.mixtengenetics.com!
I chibi-fied my OC children and I'm making them fight! Let me know who you think would win in the comments! Maybe you'll sway someone to your side!
Who would win?
Morgon
L'Ara
I don't know what to name this guy. Suggestions?

I hope everyone had an excellent spooky season!
For Week 2 of OC-Tober I drew K'Ti L'Ara.
L'Ara is an alien OC I came up with this year and I've been working to nail down her appearance. I wanted to incorporate elements of maniraptoran dinosaurs into a humanoid character. I already had a story in mind when I made her.
As for being an alien... she's only sort of an alien. L'Ara's species branched off the dinosaurian branch that includes Troodon. So she is, essentially, a non-avian dinosaur. Her species existed for 15,000 years in the late Jurassic, but there's no record left (that we know of). This relates to a couple things: 1) that we only know about a fraction of organisms that have existed on Earth and 2) the notion of the Silurian Hypothesis. The Silurian Hypothesis essentially suggests that it is possible an advanced civilization (or at least one equivalent to ours) could have existed millions of years ago and left no trace. In the grand scheme of things, 15,000 years of existence around 150 million years ago could conceivably not make an impact on the fossil record. Especially if any structures they built were more organic than inorganic.
At any rate, L'Ara and her exploratory crew were pulled into a rift in space causing their ship to crash onto an unknown alien world. L'Ara is the only survivor of the crash and doesn't realize the world she crashed into is a future version of her own. She's trying to find a way back to a place that no longer exists.
I plan to go more into her story in a filler arc between future Mixten Genetics chapters.
