some fern embroidery for spring <3
i’m going to an ostara celebration today! this is the second time that i’ve embroidered ferns, and i’m happy with how it turned out. i started with a darker green and integrated a lighter color as i got closer to the ends of the fronds to create a gradient :)

So one aspect of life drawing that we've been taught in university is breaking down the body into cubes in perspective, this is something I have been struggling with greatly (If you scroll back through my posts I'm sure you'll see haha)
But then I found this artist: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2PL2J
And I found her work really helpful in understanding how to break the body into its planes without making it so angular:
I started by copying her drawings to understand better how they were created:
And then applied that to some of my own studies using references from LineofAction.com
I feel I have improved greatly just by doing this so in future I may do some more studies of other artists studies to help improve my own understanding of anatomy
