The fact that we never see Katniss talking with her family about the fake pregnancy Peeta made up in Catching Fire is so funny to me-like, did they talk about it off page? Did they just assume it was true and she lost the baby? Did they automatically know it was a lie without having to discuss it? There are so many questions and every possible scenario is increasingly ridiculous.

I think her family, or maybe even most of d12, saw right through it immediately. Like, yes, there's a chance they were forced to have a baby off-screen and I'm sure some considered it, but I think most of the people in her life know her well enough, know Peeta well enough, and know the Capitol who would've been milking that way earlier as a good distraction before the Quell well enough to know it was fake.

That's my HC, at least.

(and I also believe most of the Victors either didn't believe it (bc they've met Katniss), thought it was entirely forced by Snow and felt horrible, or really just couldn't have cared less bc they had their own kids that mean nothing now) (ouch)
