āAcceptance. I finally reached it.
But something is wrong. Grief is a circular staircase. I have lost you.ā
ā Linda Pastan
You had left behind the very city that you once considered to be your home. It held no solace for you there, what with its continuous progression towards cyber-technology, producing mass conflict between varying groups of people.
Additionally, the disappearance of your grandmother was another factor that had pushed you to your departure. You depleted time, energy, and whatever resources that you could provide to find her in tow with the authorities. It wasnāt long before they had decided to relinquish the case, and fixate their attentions on the series of cases that flood their desks.
In the very end, even as you tried to justify and reason with your mind to stay, you fed into the impulse and made the decision to pack your belongings.
Now, after almost a decade of residing and finding comfortability within a quaint suburban town in the countryside, you begin to have dreams ā beckoning you to return to the city. It is a message that you, albeit that you hesitated, give in to, and you now stand at the edge of a dense forest.
What you didnāt know was that the very contents of that forest, as well as the events that transpire afterwards, will lead you to a whole other world.
