I self-ship with Diana of Themyscira (Wonder Woman) and Artemis of Bana-Mighdall (Artemis Grace) from DC Comics! I have separate lore for them/my sona, Mayday, that I will ramble about.
I am not poly and neither are my ships ദ്ദി૮ ・ ﻌ・ა
⋆ important note, I see myself and my sona as “one”, even in self-insert/AU situations. I write in third person as it’s just how my brain works, but Mayday and I are one in the same! ⋆

Okay I wanted to say this because it’s been on my mind for a bit…
Someone’s sharing status with their f/os does not determine how serious they are about them.
I feel like there’s this assumption in the Selfship community that sharing = less serious and nonsharing = more serious, and that’s just… not entirely true. I’ve seen people who share and are incredibly dedicated and emotionally invested in their f/os, and I’ve also seen people who are nonsharing but treat selfshipping more casually, like a hobby rather than something deeper like fictosexuality and etc.
Everyone approaches their sharing status and what it means differently, and that doesn’t make one way “better” or more valid than another. Also some Selfshippers share as a way to cope with doubles too, so keep that in mind as well!
At the end of the day, sharing vs nonsharing is just a boundary preference, not a measure of love, commitment, or how “real” someone’s feelings are. Thank you! That’s all! 🫶🏻💞
for my black selfshippers who are afraid to express themselves, do it. even if you think that no one will care. someone does, but most importantly, you should do it because you deserve to be yourself. are you girly? then be girly! or don't be girly! you can be punk, you can be loud, you can be quiet. its up to you!
if you want to be yourself. don't let anyone else make you feel like one wrong move will make your world here collapse. you deserve to be here, you deserve to be yourself, you deserve to express your love. have 100 f/os or have 1 that will be part of your life forever. just let yourself be.
be the damsel in distress, be the lovable black lead, be the quiet, nerdy one who gets to be loved, the angry one who falls for someone who understands them. this is your self ship. in the end, you matter. you matter so much. and no matter what anyone says:
Imagine taking a personal item of your F/O's and cuddling with it when you miss them. The item in question could be anything from a piece of clothing, jewelry, or an object that they often carry with/on them.
Perhaps your F/O is doing something really important away from home, or maybe they're actually at home with you but just very busy in another room.* Either way, they've been away for a while, and you're starting to miss them immensely. So, to cope with their absence, you take one of their belongings that they have lying around, get comfy on your bed/couch/etc., and hold it close to you while you yearn for them to be beside you again.
*Bonus for the second probability: imagine your F/O finishing up with whatever they were busy with and later on realizing this personal item of theirs is missing, and then walking in on you cuddling it while they were looking for it :)))
Hi just a small heads up! I appreciate the sentiment, but please don't come onto my socials and show me other self shippers with my f/o(s)!
I was sent an anon ask with the username of another shipper as a "heads up" and while I understand this anon was likely just looking out for me, I don't like exposing myself to other shippers like that. If I come across it naturally, I will block and move on, but you don't have to show them to me!
2. Introduce your s/i as if they're a canon part of the source.
Mayday is an extraordinary mutt living on the streets of Gotham. Abandoned at birth for their mutant features, they grow up in an orphanage until they're deemed too dangerous at age eight for their too sharp teeth and fangs. A kind scientist finds them living amongst a stray dog pack and decides to take them home. They prove to be far more intelligent than initially thought and learned all they could while growing up at his side.
Learning to control their inner beast does little to deter the public, having to wear a muzzle and scratch proof gloves, but they manage to have a heart full of empathy and selflessness. After being forced back onto the streets after the passing of their adoptive father, they are scouted by Batman and eventually taken in for training with the JLA.
Armed with teeth that bite through bone, claws that shred through metal, and their heart on their sleeve, Mayday becomes a fine hero. They aid in crisis, though is mostly relied on for their incredible sense of smell and hearing to help search and rescue teams.
8. What do your f/o and s/i's friends and/or family think about their relationship?
Diana's family is just happy for her. She's her mother's most precious treasure, so Mayday does their absolute best to make a good impression. Little do they know that all Diana's people want is for their princess to be happy so they're already considered a good fit!
Mayday doesn't really have family (abandoned at birth and adoptive father passed), but sometimes they'll tell Diana about how much they believe their adoptive dad would've loved her. They do their best to help other mutants as well, and they all appreciate Diana for learning about them and helping to defend their rights while fighting for more.
12. What are their general plans and/or goals for the future?
They share a goal; to fight for truth and justice with as much compassion as they can carry. They both wish for a world that is peaceful and kind, for community and trust. They tentatively think about marriage, but the life of a hero is a busy one!
Hopefully you enjoyed learning about my sillies!! 💜❤️
