Worst place I’ve ever worked

I’ve submitted before anonymously about working at a coffee place where someone asked if we served coffee. Another thing that once happened that is more of a f**k coworkers is one time when me and another coworker were working the window during a rush in order to get orders out faster. I wanted to keep the window fully open to help get orders out faster since letting it close and open takes up time. He didn’t like that and kept trying to close it. So after 3-4 times of this and me keeping having to open it, I tried once more to open it, and he didn’t like that so he pulled on my shoulders, dug in his fingers and really hurt my back/shoulder area. I screamed out and told him never to touch me again, and he just got mad saying, “well stop f**king opening the window!” I ended up going to management about it and they saw the cameras and saw him do it, but of course even with proof he tried to deny it. All he got was a “don’t do it again” talk. They didn’t do anything, he didn’t get written up or even lose hours or anything. That was just one of many things that happened at this place and one of many reasons why I quit. I may submit more later on about other stuff that has happened. Working on long reddit post too about it all.

I never told anyone because I felt like maybe I didn’t actually deserve my promotion, and I worried I wouldn’t get anymore promotions if I spoke up, so…. God, every time I think I understand how bad it is, it’s just way worse than I imagined. This kind of stuff has happened to literally every woman I know. I just wanted to help make it better for this one woman.

God this episode actually made me tear up. I myself have had to deal with the pain of being sexual assualted and unlike Keri, I didn’t get my assualted charged because they said there wasn’t enough evidence and I came forward too late. Seeing this episode really made me love the show even more, because not only were they respectful with the topic and still be funny but not distasteful, but it also shows woman, and even men who have been sexually assualted, that even though there is risks, that there can be justice brought to the assualters. I just wish it could happen more often like how Keri got her justice. @nbcbrooklyn99 I only really got into the show after season 5 ended and just before season 6 aired but I can officially say that Brooklyn 99 will forever be one my favourite shows and one of the best shows to ever air 😭😄☺️

Seeing all these stories makes me wanna share my own. I worked at a coffee shop for three years before I quit. It is well known in Canada, so you’d have to live under a rock to not know we serve coffee. One of many stories was when a customer walked in, looked at the menu, saw all of our coffee/tea/beverage options, and asked “Do you guys sell coffee?” I physically had to leave the counter because I was so shocked that someone could be that stupid.

Bell is taking its outrageous grab for internet control to the CRTC tomorrow.

It’s scary – Bell, Cineplex, Shaw, and Rogers are trying to censor the internet and force the end of net neutrality in Canada. And worse, they’re trying to do it behind closed doors.

These 4 companies, led by Bell, are pushing to create an internet “blacklist” of certain websites that all internet service providers in Canada would legally have to block. They know this outrageous proposal would never pass, so first, they tried to sneak it into NAFTA negotiations – and now Bell is expected to introduce its proposal to Canada’s telecom regulator TOMORROW.

Critics are calling this move “unprecedented” and dangerous. If these companies get their way, this internet blacklist would have absolutely zero oversight in the courts. We need to stop this urgently.

The internet just changed: Net Neutrality is dead.

The FCC sided with Comcast and decided to let ISPs censor the internet. The Internet needs to stop this from happening: http://cms.fightforthefuture.org/tellfcc/

Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced a proposal for new rules that would allow for a “ fast lane” of Internet traffic for content providers who are willing (and able) to pay a fee. [1] The proposal reverses the FCC’s previous commitment to net neutrality and open internet and allows ISP’s like Comcast or Verizon to slow down and censor services that don’t pay the toll.

We have to be totally honest, this situation is seriously grim. But there is still hope. The FCC already knows that the Internet community wants net neutrality, but they think they can put their spin on these new rules and sneak them through. If we can prove them wrong right now with a massive public outcry, we can literally save the Internet once again.

We need to stop the FCC now. Big business groups are already ramping up lobbying efforts with the FCC in swarms since Wednesday’s announcement in support of censoring the open Internet and to ensure this dangerous proposal moves forward. [2]

This is a critical moment. In the last few weeks more than 65,000 people have taken action with us. Can you help us get to 80,000 by the end of the day today?
