🎥 Watched 🔗 Death on the Nile ( ★★★ ) over the weekend. Hadn’t I watched it before? Yes of course - but not this one. Another one. I know you know the story - it’s nearly 100 years old so of course you do - just interesting to see the ensemble cast in a murder mystery based on a book written by the inventor of the ensemble cast in a murder mystery - all the way down to the end scene where what ever is left of the cast are stood in a room with the worlds greatest detective reveals the dastardly culprit.

You’ve seen the scene so many times - mainly in films and shows that are NOT Ms. Christie stories.

🎥 I watched 🔗 Rumble in the Bronx years ago and just watched it again last night - ★★★ - not for the acting - can I gave negative stars❓ But absolutely for Jackie Chan’s fight choreography - amazing.

🖋️ ‘Content Category’ is an Oxymoron.

‘Content’ lives in silos. It’s homogenous. Interchangeable. One grain of wheat looks like every other grain of wheat.

Call your work content and you’ve already agreed it can be replaced. Call your IP content and you’ve commoditised it. Call your values content and you’ve admitted they’re just filler.

The choice of language allows the reader to internalise the idea that your work, passion, IP, writing, thoughts .. can just be swapped out for someone else’s and no one will notice.

And we wonder why the ‘paymasters’ no longer pay.

We used to write books, novels, articles, papers, plays, scripts - and if someone asked to see more - they might ask you if you have any more material. Nobody asked Joyce, Sartre, Camus, Hemingway, Borges et al if they had more ‘content’.

The word does the damage before anyone reads a single word you’ve written.
