This is the second time I've ever drawn Jet and he actually looks amazing???? Whatttt????

Ok since I don’t think anyone's talked about them, what do we think of the four symbols? Specifically what do we think they are? Like we know one is a dragon, but what about the other 3? Are they demons, celestials, a mix of both, or something else entirely?

Also this one though crossed my mind. So we know everyone a got a power boost from the stones, but we specifically saw Mei, Tang, Sandy, and Pigsy get a power boost from the stones the symbols had? So do we thing they might fill similar roles the 4 symbols?

Im unsure why youre asking me of all people this but the 4 symbols are directly based on a real concept in chinese folklore/mythology.

Theyre the 4 Cardinal Beasts.

The Azure Dargon of the East (Meng Zhang)

The White Tiger of the West (Jian Bing)

The Vermillion Bird of the South (Ling Guang)

And the Black Turtle Snake of the North (Zhi Ming)

Typically the 5th slot representing the center is often filled by the Qilin, but in LMK its filled by the Jade emperor. Which is appropriate enough as if theres a beast for the center in a depiction of the 4 beasts, its often assumed it was meant to represent the emporor in some way.

Theyre usually called either Beasts or Gods and are most often treated as Protector deities that Rule and Protect their cardinal direction.

Theyd most likely be classed as celestial gods in the LMK verse.

And as for if theyre powers could potentially be inherited by the rest of the monkey crew, presumably with MK himself taking over the Jade Emperor's slot, that is certainly an interesting idea.
