sprite edits of my Mew Mew design from this post! and also the small versions
baby cats very cute
they should invent a disproportionate emotional response that goes away when you understand it's disproportionate. they should invent a way to logic yourself out of emotions
They should invent a "remind me later" button for distressing responses
thinking about diatoms again
microscopic living stars made of glass that eat the sun. and they're all around us. in every body of water. glass sun-eating stars.
I like them a lot. they produce up to half of all earth's oxygen. the air you breathe is thanks to sun-eating stars made of glass. and that's pretty cool.
and you know. like oblongs and triangles and some other bullshit

Okey
I'm so obsessed with Abbacchio. He's just too hot. 🔥
This is my first time redesigning a character's outfit, so I didn't dare change too much — just added a few accessories based on how I see him. Hope it's not too OOC!
I've drawn Abbacchio quite a few times now, and he's always got that serious/sullen look on his face… so this time, I wanted to try drawing him smiling instead 😭
He's genuinely so beautiful — I really wish he smiled more in canon
friend of mine recommended a video essay that's like 5 hours long about why it's currently a whole Thing for fascists to claim they only eat meat and demonize vegetables etc etc, and it's genuinely quite well researched in many places and contains some fascinating history and has made me feel very weird about my status as an adult who enjoys drinking milk. but I've not finished it and I genuinely don't know if I will because at one point the ol' "you can't say you care about animals and also eat animals" chestnut got dropped by the white vegan essayist and it put such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to leave instantly
like idk man it just feels genuinely parodic to dedicate hours to analyzing how foodways have frequently been used as white supremacist propaganda and then casually toss out an argument that pretty invariably demonizes indigenous hunting practices with 0 regard for traditional knowledge and land stewardship guiding those practices
smitten is such a great word :) omg he's so cute it feels like i'm being killed by god

I think it's important to remember that every single religion can be twisted for violence and oppression and abuse and control. Yes, including the one that you think can't be. But quickly, before anti-theists start saying that religion is an inherently evil violence accelerant, remember that this is true for any ideology, including anti-theism. Violence and oppression and abuse and control happens wherever there are people who think that those things will help them get what they want.
The thing I appreciate most about the locked tomb series is that its doing something that most current media has given up on: trusting the audience to pay attention. There is nothing simple about this book, but Muir is very intentional with the parts she explicitly explains. Enough is left for the readers to connect and conclude for themselves. I appreciated being slightly confused the entire time reading Nona. It felt good to actually need to think critically about what I was consuming.

sigh…let’s all use classical math as an excuse to be sappy
