Oh dear, I misread that word.
Scott Listfield’s “Re-Entry” at Talon Gallery.
Opening tonight - Thursday, April 25th, 2019 - at Talon Gallery in Portland, Oregon is artist Scott Listfield’s amazing new solo exhibition, “Re-Entry.”
For “Re-Entry,” Listfield has continued with his revered series of a wandering astronaut observing the surreal landscapes of an Earth existing at some point in the future, creating grand metaphors for our current times and the consequences of our actions.
The exhibition will be on view until May 26th, 2019 and should be sought out if in the area.

Most of us have spent our lives caught up in plans, expectations, ambitions for the future; regrets, guilt or shame about the past. To come into the present is to stop the war. - Jack Kornfield Rock climbing while being dwarfed by the immensity of nature in Paklenica National Park, Croatia. (at Starigrad-Paklenica, Zagrebačka, Croatia)
TIL that sarper duman, aka the piano cat guy, is an enthusiastic cat dad who rescues and cares for injured stray cats in istanbul.
“i always play piano at my home almost every night and whenever i sit to play, all my cats come around, they hang out with me and they love to sleep around the piano.”
“they are peaceful, i am more at peace thanks to them”
one of his cats is blind. "his happiest moment is at the window. listening to the birds, getting fresh air is our favorite activity. i hang out an hour every day at the window with my angel.“
there are currently 19 cats living in his home and he started a fundraiser to help cover their medical costs.
Madeleine Albright Warns: Don’t Let Fascism Go ‘Unnoticed Until It’s Too Late’
Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright describes herself as an “optimist who worries a lot.” And lately, it seems, there has been much to worry about.
Albright’s new book, Fascism: A Warning, starts by describing how Hitler and Mussolini came to power in the 20th century, then warns about today’s authoritarian rulers in Eastern Europe, North Korea, Turkey and Russia.
Albright, who was born in Czechoslovakia and fled with her family after the Nazis occupied the country in 1939, notes that the United States has traditionally been viewed as a nation that opposes authoritarianism and supports democratic principles and human rights, but that perception is changing — in part because of President Trump.
While Albright does not call Trump a fascist, she says that he is “the most anti-democratic leader that I have studied in American history.”
“We’re not fulfilling the role that we’re supposed to,” she says of the United States today. “I believe very much that democracy in the United States is resilient [and] that people can be skeptical about things that are going on, but I really am afraid that we are taking things for granted.”

A Daily Affirmation: Today is a new day Unlike any before And any to come Because I am alive today everything is possible Today I will observe Today I will focus Today I will actively train my mind So that I may retake power over my life Today I will be kind Today I will be grateful Today I will serve in whatever manner I am able Today there is no coincidence Today is a new day It is the best of my life To do my best today Is to honor myself, my family, my ancestors and my legacy It is to honor all the causes and conditions that conspired To place me where I am So that I may come closer to myself Today is the perfect time to let go Today is the perfect time to start Today I will take the opportunity To give up the illusion of control And live only today Today there is no yesterday Today there is no tomorrow Today there is only now And remaining in that space I see how perfect life is Where I fit into it What my journey means What my treasure is And what lessons I am offered With each challenge I inch closer To mastery over myself To pacification of the mind To separation from the body To the truth of reality To the knowledge I am perfect With each breath I ingest I am conscious With each contraction of my lungs I am love With each thought I am free With each action I am a servant Each moment everything is Exactly as it is I require nothing more Than today
You are more
Wanting equal rights is not a liberal thing. Wanting to feel safe is not a conservative thing. Believing in science is not a liberal thing. Believing in a higher power is not a conservative thing. Wanting social justice is not a liberal thing. Wanting opportunity for your children is not a conservative thing. Compassion is not a liberal thing. Responsibility is not a conservative thing. Speaking out against oppression is not a liberal thing. Speaking out when your government does not represent your ideals is not a conservative thing. These are human things.
You are not a liberal nor a conservative; you are human. You are not your political affiliation. You are not your job. You are not your possessions. You are not your class. You are not your education. You are not your religion. You are not your race.
To believe otherwise is to limit your identity to a concept. You are more than that. You are a human on the same team as everything on this planet.
Don’t let anyone or anything fool you into believing otherwise.
And this is why Meryl Streep is a legend.
Last year, global warming reached record high temperatures — and if that news feels like déjà vu, you’re not going crazy.
The planet has now had three consecutive years of record-breaking heat.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has just released its annual State of the Climate report, which says it’s the hottest it has been since scientists started tracking global temperatures in 1880.
A separate analysis, by NASA scientists, came to the same conclusion.

You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, “You’re gonna like this guy. He’s all right. He’s a good fella. He’s one of us.” You understand? We were good fellas. Wiseguys.
