Saurondriel was supposed to be doomship, yes, not a sunkenship.
A doomship is one where two characters have romantic feelings for each other but can’t ever be together/don’t end up together... and Amazon pretty much throw that off a cliff!
Amazon just did a Season 1 ret-con to please the lorebros with virginal, damsel-in-distress Galadriel and Middle-earth Thanos Sauron. What are you all celebrating? Did I miss something? Did you all have access to a different episode?
I’m reading nonsense about Sauron having "genuine feelings" for Galadriel, when that scene at the finale made it perfectly clear he doesn’t and that he deceived her the entire time, when he was Halbrand. And even mocked her for having feelings for him. Mocking us, shippers, in return. Amazon doesn't even has to gaslight us in interviews, they did it on the show itself!
Whatever “feelings” they had for each other are gone and were resolved before they even met face to face which is... anticlimactic.
I don't know, I'm in my 30's, perhaps I'm just too old for this, really.
