this feeling gives me so much sadness
I have very oily, acne prone skin and I often break out with pimples all over my face, and I've tried almost ever product available but I wanted to know whether proactive works?
Proactive is one of those product where you can't be sure whether it will work for you. For some the products can be quite harsh and induce a burning feeling, personally I find that their products work extremely well for me and their refining mask is particularly effective. If you do end up using the product I would recommend not following the desired amount usage ie. don't use it day and night because it will dry out you skin and over washing is never good for you. A cheaper alternative to proactive is the clean and clear three packs, many of my friends who have tries proactive and found it unsuccessful have use this product and have been very satisfied with the results.
Indian Hair Oil
Indian hair oil is honestly the best thing you can ever do for your hair, it completely nourishes not only hair but your scalp therefore moisturizing any future hair that grows. The smell can be really unpleasantfor some people who aren't use to but you just need to leave it on for around and hour and your hair will feel amazing. There are a lot of brand for Indian hair oil and most of them do work very well, I myself enjoy using the thinner versions available but it really depends on what you find comfortable. The brand I use is called Bajaj and it's Amla hair oil which is one of the thinner versions aforementioned.
I swear I'm in love with this product, I've been using it for a week and almost all of my acne is gone, my skins balance is replaced and it's really gentle which makes it great to use often.
Pumpkin Face Mask
Pumpkin Face Mask
This is an amazing nourishing face mask that lifts your face a bit and moisturizes it as well, it's main ingredient pumpkin contain vitamins A and C and it also contains zinc.
Ingredients
2 teaspoons cooked or caned pumpkin, pureed
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon milk
Method
If using fresh pumpkin, boil it before pureeing it.
After pureeing it add the honey and the milk and mix thoroughly
Spread evenly across your face (avoiding the eye area) and leave on for 15 minutes
Notes
When pureeing the pumpkin you can just push it through a strainer the get it nice and fine.
The mixture soaks into your skin when its one and can fall off your face quite easily so I don't suggest moving around much and while its on it doesn't matter if it slides into your mouth it tastes really good!

This ma seem strange but it really helps when you have a sore throat.
There is a subtle charm in the taste of tea which makes it irresistible and capable of idealization… It has not the arrogance of wine, the self-consciousness of coffee, nor the simpering of innocence cocoa.

Chai (Spiced Tea)
Chai is an Indian spiced tea that is now enjoyed by many across the world. Many people approach make this tea different and I'll be writing up a family recipe that I was taught from my mum.
Ingredients
1 Stick of Cinnamon
3 Cups of water*
4 teaspoons of tea leaves
4-8 cardamom pod casings
10g of Ginger
Sugar
Method
Take ginger and crush it in mortar and pestle
Pour the water into a sauce-pan and add the ginger, cinnamon and cardamon casings into the water and put it on low heat.
When the water comes up to a boil add the tea-leaves and turn off heat. Take a plate and cover the top of the saucepan.
Wait for 3-5 minutes* (depending on how strong you want the tea) and remove the plate from on-top of the sauce-pan.
Add milk gradually while stirring until the tea is a caramel brown.
Strain tea into glasses and add sugar according to preference.
Notes
When crushing the ginger a useful tip is to add a little bit of water in the mortar and pestle with the ginger then put that in with the ginger when you put it with the tea, The water helps you get all the ginger flavor that's left in the mortar.
One cup of water is around 250ml
Don't leave the tea leaves in the water for too long or else the tea becomes bitter.
Watermelon Toner
Watermelon Toner
Ingredients
Few Chunks of Watermelon
1 tablespoon of Vodka*
1 tablespoon of distilled water
Method
Mash the chunks of watermelon and strain the pulp so you have around 2 tablespoons of watermelon juice*.
Add the Vodka and water and place in an airtight container. Then shake well.
Apply on your face with a cotton ball.
Notes
I've never tried this toner because my mum won't buy me alcohol but quite often with alcohol it makes your skin dryer which in turn makes it produce more oil.
Don't use bought watermelon juice because if the preservatives and sugars that aren't good for your skin.
Mint Clay Mask
Mint Clay Mask
Description
A minty cooling and firming face-mask.
Ingredients
3-4 Tablespoons of Fuller's earth clay
8-10 mint leaves
3-4 teaspoons of distilled water*
Method
Mix ingredients in a small bowl until it forms a paste.
Place paste into refrigerate to chill overnight
Thaw out the mixture and smooth generously over face
When dry, rinse off with lukewarm water.
Notes
* The water doesn't need to distilled but distilled water is just cleaner and more suitable for your face.
Before adding the mint leaves to the clay and water I would suggest rolling it, then cutting it roughly just to bruise the mint leaves and help the mintyness seep into the rest of the paste.
Remember, when applying the face-mask have a thick even layer all over your face but avoid the eye area.
When washing off the face-mask it's a good idea to use cold or cool water as warm/hot water opens your pores which takes away the point of the mask.
This mask is really good for all skin types but is especially good for combination skin types.
Exfoliating Sugar Scrub
Sugar Scrub
Ingredients
1 teaspoon of Sugar
3/4 teaspoon of Olive Oil
Method:
Mix Sugar and Olive oil in small bowl. Smear over face and gently scrub in circular motions. Wash off thoroughly.
Notes
Face mask is for dry skin but can also be used on oily skin types. After using apply gentle cleanser to remove extra oil. Would defiantly recommend but don't use more than once a week, as the sugar can take off too many layers of skin.
Green Tea Toner
Green Tea Toner
Description
Green Tea Toner, toner is a product used on the face to clean and close pores and should be used daily
Ingredients
2 teaspoons of green tea powder
50 ml of boiling water
Method
Steep the Green Tea in the boiling water for around 10 minutes
Let it cool then apply on face with cotton bud
Notes
This might be able to be stored for a week if the tea leaves are strained out of the water and if the solution is stored in an air tight container.
If you rinse the solution off your face remember to use cold water to keep your pores closed.
This toner works because green tea is a known antioxidant and ant-aging, these properties also apply to your skin.
