This Pride was the best in memory. I’m so lucky to have extraordinary queers in my life to help me raise hella $$$ for queer orgs I care about. We raised $4000+ for @callenlorde generating press with my friend @untitledqueen for @thebrooklynball. $3000+ for the @trevorproject with @jeffmasters1 and the team behind Big Queer Pod Fest. Thousands (not fully tallied yet) for @translawcenter with our @gayslutswhoread x @greenboxshop. And $4000+ for @aidslifecycle with the @grindr team which raised $113,000+ total. It’s easy enough for me to be loud on the internet, but another thing to put my money where my mouth is! This is what Pride is about my bbs! I’ve always had a complicated relationship to Pride, so this year I skipped the parade and rallied queer fam to the queer beach for snacks and tequila-lemonades and new Beyoncé blasting. For a few hours, time stood still. My queer family carries me, so we took this day to celebrate each other. Remember Pride isn’t defined by floats or rainbows or corporate sponsorships or cops.
