perhaps … his gaze has lingered a bit too long. in all logic, sun shouldn’t be in such awe. it was made apparent soon after his arrival that this strange new city held more power than he could ever imagine ─ much more than he’s used to seeing in remnant, surprisingly enough. so when he watches as someone manifests some swords ( it appears they’re wooden? he thinks of his own weapons that had been replaced upon his arrival … ), sun really shouldn’t be too surprised. but … he is! there’s only one other person he’s seen with an ability like that. perhaps it’s that sense of familiarity that makes the stranger easier to approach? or maybe he’s just a bit lonely?
“ hey, that was a neat trick! cool swords! ” sun grins with the compliment, “ that’s a pretty solid ability. can you do that with anything else? or did they take your things, too? ” sun’s head tips slightly to the side as he gestures to the pair of nunchucks on his hips. but, hey !! at least they glow and make cool noises, right? “ unless you just normally use wooden swords. which is cool too and all, but i don’t think they’ll be useful against whatever things they warn us about at night! ”
to blackbird’s dismay, no matter how many times she summoned a sword from that joke of a plastic crest, they would still be made of foam. what a joke—— and a bad one at that! such is her distress that she barely registers those curious eyes on her. she is getting sloppy huh? or perhaps he poses no threat. regardless, she is quick to put on a smile as he approached. ‘ aw, shucks ! you think this is cool? should see what i can actually summon from the real deal. ’
to make it a point, she gently pokes the other on the chest with the foam-sword. it’s not every day she tries acting so friendly but, to be quite frank, she’s bored and feeling equally lonely without the only person she cares for not being around. so, no harm in trying to be amicable for once. . . right ?
‘ liiiiike, swords, axes, knives, and even wings! pretty much anything, but i used to store weapons. ’ with a flourish of her hand, the foam sword disappears into the crest. ‘ i see you’ve also fallen victim to this world’s silly weapon-swapping system. unless you actually use funky nunchucks. which is fine. ’ she’s obviously teasing. ‘ anyway, the name’s blackbird. it’s nice to meetcha ! ’
