i cannot stress how much it does for us

a while ago, one of my mutuals was considering quitting writing. her fics weren’t doing as well, and the algorithm wasn’t favoring her writing like it used to.

so as a collective 10-15 writers, we all reblogged her fic once each. that alone put her writing at the top of the tag.

it makes a difference. way more than you think. it doesn’t matter if people see it because of you, it still gets promoted by the algorithm.

The reblog button on this hellsite works similarly to the like button on instagram or tiktok. The more reblogs a post gets the more it rotates and moves around in the tags, which means more people will see it.

Plus as a content creator Reblogs always tend to keep me motivated to keep writing/creating for my fandom. Posts that have 40 likes and 0 Reblogs just kinda dampen my self esteem.

This isnt meant to sound passive aggressive (ok maybe it is a little bit) but I see y'all who like the hc posts and ao3 links. I appreciate it, I really do, but likes don't do anything for creators on Tumblr.

Reblogs are the real money maker for fandom creators and just creators in general on this site.

[Hiatus over! Kinda. My output level is not going to be as high as before. I got incredibly burnt out putting out up to 7 posts a day, since most of them are brand new drawings each time and somewhat animated. I didn't know how to limit myself and felt as though I needed to answer asks as soon as they came in, and that need made doing this askblog a chore instead of something fun, which is something I never wanted to happen. The entire point of starting this blog (which might sound silly) was to get better at drawing, and I still want to do that. I hope that my return is welcome and that you all enjoy the content going forward <33 I may need a little time to get back to drawing him consistently though lol]
