It wasn't anything grand with Minseok and Luhan, there was never any statement, no confession of sort, nothing like a bang. It went on subtly like the caressing of small gentle waves on the shore that unconsciously pull them farther, deeper into the ocean. No one really knows exactly when or how it started, from what point it became love or even if it's love at all from the beginning. It's like a music that grows from nothingness, gradually goes louder and louder and it gets them in the rhythm without them realizing. Like a crescendo. And by the time they were aware of what's happening between them, they're already in too deep, and the music is already halfway through. It could start on one of those late night snacks hours after practice ended. Minseok was far too skinny, far too stressed than what he was willing to admit, insisting on skipping meals eventhough he lacked in body fat already. And Luhan, for reasons he could not explain, insisted that he should take care of Minseok, thus dragging the petite guy on a sneak out and tricking him into eating delicious food far in the darkness of the night. Or it could also be one of those times they passed out on the same bed after busy schedules, too tired to even change clothes but ended up waking very fresh with arms and legs tangled in one another. Or maybe it was one of their many coffee dates, casually taking sips from each other cups if only for the sake of tasting, or stealing each other's cake just for the fun of it. And Luhan fell in love with Minseok, he realized it when Minseok was down with fever and Luhan felt like a jerk for letting Minseok got sick like that. And Jongdae, with soft a serious tone, told him that it wasn't how friends would feel, Luhan must have cherished Minseok as more than a friend. And Luhan did. And Minseok fell in love with Luhan, not for the genuine smile he sent his way, nor the many times he kept Minseok close to shield him from harm, but for the moments Luhan encouraged him to shine. He fell in love with Luhan, who wanted nothing more than to share the spotlight with him. Neither of them declared their love for each other, they simply fit together like pieces of puzzle. But the thing with puzzle is, no matter how much the pieces complete each other, there was always that crack, that small gap that separates them from one another, a distinct line that always showed where Minseok ends and Luhan starts. That was why, when Luhan decided to leave for good, neither him nor Minseok cried. Because they will still be there for each other compatible as they are, but they knew they were never truly one.
