I love listening to music and going “wow, this reminds me of sam/dean/destiel”. Because youd think id only do it every once and awhile mainly cause i listen to almost explicitly folk music but i do it A LOT. So here are a few of my “wow this reminds me of that guy from supernatural”.
Same anymore by Ariel Marie: this song just gives something sam would listen to when hes on his own. Although i am also bias and think sam would listen to folk because i like folk. The main reason though is from the lyrics “I was made from devils eyes, you were made from angels cries” which i mean cmon. Sam despite praying and worshiping angels is infected with demon blood while dean is the holy man.
Shoulders by The Big Thief: This song is SO SAM WINCHESTER. “And the blood of the man who killed my mother with his hands. Is in me, its in me in my veins” I MEAN COME ON. THATS LITERALLY HIS WHOLE THING. AZAZEL WHO KILLED HIS MOTHER, AND FED SAM HIS BLOOD????
The Crooked and the Cradle by The Crane Wives: Mainly i think this song is Sam Winchester because of the lyrics “ If mercys abound Ill be safe, Ill be sound. And the devil wont know of the love I just couldnt let go” because all he wants is heavens mercy. To be free of the evil that runs through his veins. To finally be safe and yet he knows he never will be.
Hello My Old Heart by The Oh Hellos: I think Sam reminisces of the person he was before his first death, before hell. I feel like the show touches on this when Dean expresses his concern MULTIPLE times about how Sam seems less merciful. Specifically this song reminds me of when the wall finally broke completely “Hello my old heart Its been so long, Since ive given you away. And everyday, I add another stone to the walls I built around you to keep you safe.” How he tried so hard to keep the wall in his mind up. To not let lucifer win yet ultimately failing

my angel by Adrianne Lenker:
“Strange as she appears to be, oldest friend invisibly, she brushes my hair with a physical hand, lowers my body down to the land, My angel” Again do i even have to explain this one?
