Last year, I illustrated Good Selfie by @turiapitt , a new book for kids and teens which is packed with super helpful advice about navigating through life and its challenges... AND HERE IS THE FIRST REVEAL, WITH THE AMAZING LADY HERSELF!! 😱😱😱💗💗💗 It's an understatement to say that I'm excited and so incredibly proud to have worked on Good Selfie, with gorgeous book design by the team at @evi_o_studio (@evi_o nd Susan Le! Go team!). It's been my childhood dream to illustrate for children and young adults, and that goal has finally been TICKED! Good Selfie is the book I wish I had when I was growing up, and I'd recommend it even to adults! Just read the testimonials on Turia's website to see for yourself (with reviews by Carrie Bickmore @bickmorecarrie, Sandra Sully @shortblack_, Michelle Bridges @mishbridges , Julie Bishop MP @juliebishopmp and @lisa_wilkinson, just to name a few!) (💀Warning: Mushy Oscar-length post ahead💀) 2017 was one of the most important years of my life, both professionally and personally 🌞🌞 As the year draws to a close, I realise that I have a lot to be thankful for. Thank you to everyone who has supported my art over the years. Most of all, thank you to my clients (both old and new) such as @scottspark , @hollytoohey @digitalnoir , @liftedbrow and others who aren't on Insta. Art directors, producers and editors often don't get as much recognition as they deserve- but it's people like them who make it possible for artists to turn dreams into a reality. Thank you for entrusting me with amazing projects I'd drool over and as a bonus, being so much fun to work with!!💖💖 Lastly (but certainly not least), thank you to @eduardowolfealegria , my boss, mentor and friend at @utsdab . I learned so much from you in my first year of tutoring Illustration. Never would I have imagined myself teaching at university level, being the naturally anxious person I am (until I was at least 40 and wise)...and enjoying it! Thank you for your trust, patience and instilling confidence in me🌸💕 Ok enough mush for now. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of 2017. "Shout Out to the Girls" is a new title coming out February 2018 from @penguinbooksaus @penguinkidsaus @penguinteenaus celebrating 50 Australian women with incredible achievements! I feel so honoured to be commissioned to illustrate two amazing women for this book. This one is of May Emmeline Wirth (1895-1987), a badass circus rider who was once described as the 'greatest lady bareback rider of all time'!🐴✨ Huge thanks to publisher @hollytoohey for bringing me on board this exciting project! ❤️ Cover is by the talented book designer, @astredcherry.

It's an understatement to say that I was a ball of excitement yesterday at the @abcradionational's #Boyers2017☺️💖 I don't normally get to meet my clients as an illustrator, so it was so exciting to meet @feraldata (The inspiring and loveliest human, Professor Genevieve Bell, who presented the Boyers this year and whom I based my recent comic on!), @scottspark (Most encouraging and awesome editor to work with, who provided me with wonderful, insightful feedback throughout the process), and @mrbenjaminlaw coincidentally (whose work I've admired for a long time!) 🌸🌸 You can catch the Boyers this week on @abcradionational or on @abciview soon!
