Hope, I know we talked before about hl writing styles and like get this, harry makes me feel, he paints me this pretty and complicated picture and lets me ascend to it BUT louis ooof louis, his lyrics just straight up breaks my heart? Like literally shatters it, do you get what I’m saying?

ouch ouch. yes, i love thinking about this because their writing styles compliment each other as well? Like, Harry is able to take a subject and conceptualize it into something that is felt with your entire chest and evokes such a vivid and independently interpretive idea of what it could mean to you, personally, that keeps peeling back layers the more you analyze it (like a sort of poetry in its enigmatic form) whereas Louis has the ability to become a storyteller and his words take you on a journey through his eyes as he experiences it. it’s personal, it’s direct, and it is a technique that really ties you to him as a lyricist because he has this innate ability in his words and how he sings them to cause you to feel personally involved and have a more intimate connection with his album’s overarching story. Harry writes predominantly to feel and louis writes predominantly to tell, and it is such a great balance between the two of them.

I’ve been dreaming!!!! hoping!!! and praying!!!! for the day where Louis finally shows us his falsetto, the fact that he can sing a C5 without transitioning into falsetto is amazing his chest voice is the shit we know this but I knew he was doing us dirty by never literally never daring to go way up there above his normal range and then holy shit defenceless.
