Don’t put off seeing a doctor or specialist about your mental health/wellbeing.
A lot of the time, mental health disorders will lie to you and make you believe you’re not ‘sick enough’ to get help. They make you believe that it’s not real, that you’re making it up, or that there are other people out there who are ‘sicker than you’ so you should just put up with it.
But just listen to me for a minute, from someone who’s been there and knows what it’s like to think those things.
If you’re crying for days at a time and you don’t really know why, then please speak to your doctor.
If you’re feeling empty with no motivation or excitement, please speak to your doctor.
If you’re constantly hearing horrible thoughts about yourself in your head, please speak to your doctor.
If frequently you find yourself alone and scared and hiding from everyone, please speak to your doctor.
If you feel overwhelmed and you can’t carry on, please speak to your doctor.
If you have a gut feeling that something might be wrong, even if there’s only a 1% chance, please speak to your doctor.
You don’t have to keep going through this. You don’t have to feel this way. Please seek the help you might need.
now is not the time to make pastel “punch nazis” edits and shirts and stickers. your performative allyship is unwanted and greatly unappreciated! now more than ever is the time for goyim to actually get active in their activism. you should be listening to Jewish people and boosting our voices. you should be calling out casual antisemitism and working on that which you harbor. it is not, it never was, and never will be the time to sit back and watch as antisemitism continues to rise. goyim can and should reblog.
Hey, Im Jumin, I am an asian gay transboy who still needs help.
I am currently trying to get a job to move away from my abusive home; the issues are that we do not have very much food to eat and I am planning on trying to begin coming out.
I have no masculine clothes, no safe fitting binder, and no food in my house.
[Here] is my amazon, full of clothing so I can begin coming out, and I will not have to wear female (dysphoria inducing) clothing everyday. If you have a question about something on here, privately ask me. After I get enough masculine clothing I am planning on donating my current clothing to trans/nb people who need it.
[Here] is my paypal, which will go to food / a binder / and will help me move out (this will also be to help me pay for school and therapy in the future).
i need to buy my hamster food on amazon but i don’t have amazon prime and i’m scared it’ll come too late. if anyone has prime and is planning on ordering something for $20 or more, please message me as it’s an add on item. i will paypal you the money i just want it to come in time. this is okay to reblog.
by okay to reblog i mean please reblog
Help Out a Friend of Mine
Hey, I’ve never made one of these posts before but this person in particular reached out to me and because of the severity of the situation, it was very brave of them to do so. So I’m just extending a hand and asking y’all to help out in any way that you can. Even if just reblog this post. They just out out of an abusive situation, leaving them broke and homeless. They’re hoping to pin down an apartment soon but that requires some sort of help with getting them on their feet.

The thing about trans women that people don’t talk about enough is the voice problem. Many of us are afraid to admit it, but there’s something incredibly degrading about being expected to alter the way we use our voice around people.
Really, like, the way that trans women are taught and expected to speak is incredibly tedious, unnatural, and obviously forced to the ear of any speech pathologist. So the “solution” is for us to go “full-time” and essentially ditch the voice that comes naturally.
It isn’t right, but there’s no winning in either case. People will misgender you if you speak naturally, and if you do try to use your “feminized” voice you’re honestly putting yourself at risk of violence, and how the fuck am I supposed to feel confident when knowing full well that the sounds coming out of me aren’t genuine or convincing to anyone?
This is a serious fucking problem that doesn’t get addressed. Trans women are expected to find services and often pay absurd sums of money to get training or “therapy” for the voice, but all you are really doing is practicing the art of speaking in a submissive and stereotyped voice. Enter radfems, who would then use this as a weapon against us, claiming that we are perpetuating *ppfffpffpfafbloobpblboooblbllblblpp* by using our voices in a way that makes us feel safe.
But, unless you’re the lucky 5-10% of trans women who can pass even after speaking, that safety is not only unlikely, but more often than not people are going to look at you with disgust and of course you know what happens once you’re outed.
Why should I have to talk like a fucking cartoon character? Cis women do NOT sound the way that these voice experts insist they do, because trans women have to speak primarily with a head tone, completely forgoing the chest and therefore removing the part of the sound that makes it sound like speaking and not fucking squealing.
If you care about trans women, expecting us to change our voices in order to pass as cis is fucking gross.
read this in its entirety.
hi, i'm sorry if this has been asked but in your powerpoint you said that the tumblr sj community is guilty of antisemitism. what kind of things has it done? also, i love your blog!
I’ll take this one since I’m the blog’s resident Jew. Oy vey, where do I start…
SJ community loves to police Jewish identity and silence actual Jews when they talk about their own identities. This usually happens in context of either “Are Jews White?” or “Jewishness is just a religion” conversations. In reality, Jews are an ethnoreligious group that ethnically originated in the middle east, and while some ethnic Jews have light skin, it’s actually due to centuries of forced assimilation in European and Slavic countries through rape, which is a big reason why Jewishness is matrilineal. Furthermore, there exist Jews who do not look white at all. There are black, brown, and asian Jews who are all ethnically Jewish, and these conversations erase them.
“Jewish privilege”. Fact: It’s not a thing. It’s actually a very common anti-semitic trope that says that Jews run everything so they are not oppressed. Jews are oppressed, and face anti-semitic violence.
“Anti-semitism is not just about Jews, there are other semitic people.” While yea, there are other semitic people, the term “anti-semitism” was created by Germans in the 19th century to refer specifically to the hatred of Jews because it sounded more scientific.
Blaming anti-semitic violence in Europe on the actions of Israel. I see this literally every single day on this site, and it’s very upsetting. Jews that live in the diaspora are not responsible for Israel’s actions, and especially should not be suffering at the hands of white people in Europe under the guise of anti-zionism.
Finally, and this is a big pet peeve of mine. The only people I ever see reblogging posts about anti-semitism are other Jews. Even a lot of my non-Jewish followers will reblog posts about racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. but ignore posts about anti-semitism, and that as a Jew makes me feel unsafe.
That’s enough for now. If you’re interested in learning more about Jewish identity and anti-semitism, you are welcome to check out my personal blog: yochevedke. I discuss that stuff a lot.
-Yeva
Another Jew reblogging about anti-semitism. I’ve seen some increase in concern about this from goyim, but it’s been slow going. Hopefully we’ll pick up a big head of steam soon.
“The only people I ever see reblogging posts about anti-semitism are other Jews. Even a lot of my non-Jewish followers will reblog posts about racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. but ignore posts about anti-semitism, and that as a Jew makes me feel unsafe.”
the amount with which this point in particular resonates with me is unreal
The bold is especially important.
I don’t think I suffer a lot from anti-Semitism, and I certainly don’t face anything close to the degree of oppression that many of my peers have to face because of their gender and sexual identity and the color of their skin. That being said, The previous posters are absolutely right on all counts.
Again, The only people I ever see reblogging posts about anti-Semitism are other Jews, while many blogs I follow reblog every post under the sun relating to racism, sexism, and homophobia. This issue has on occasion made me feel pretty isolated, because I have seen a lot of people reblogging posts related to recents events in Gaza that reflected extremely anti-Israel points of view. There’s nothing wrong with that, people have every right to hold those opinions, and I even share some of them. However, as the original poster said, a lot of recent anti-Semitic violence in Europe stems from the the willingness of anti-Israel Europeans to hold Jews in the Diaspora responsible for the actions of the state of Israel. This is not ok. This is anti-Semitism, and this is part of what American Jews are seeing as anti-Semitic in what tumblr users say and do.
The average American Jew on tumblr doesn’t think “I support what Israel is doing in Gaza, and the horrible things people say about Israel are anti-Semitic attacks”.
The average American Jew on tumblr thinks “I don’t support what Israel is doing in Gaza, and even though there wasn’t a single popular protest in Europe over civilian deaths in Syria, Libya, or elsewhere in the Middle East caused government violence, but as soon as Israel did it Europe was outraged, and tumblr exploded with anti-Israel posts covering the protests and Israel’s actions.”
Fantastic points. Bravo everyone.
I am specifically asking my non-Jewish followers (and Jewish followers if you’d like) to please read and reblog. It would mean a lot to me since I identify with pretty much all of this post. It addresses the complexities of modern antisemitism as a form of racism. We’ve done important work in in social justice already, but there is so much more to do. Thank you.
little book to introduce kids to being trans. might finish if i have time

i’ve seen zero support posts for romani people, a primary nazi target, so i want to take this moment to specify that for any and all romani people out there, your strength and power are inspiring. i am here for you always, i love you always, and i am sending you all the healing and love i can. i wish for your safety and happiness, and am dedicated to fighting for it in any way i can.
so early this morning (8/14) heavy rainfall led to a horrible landslide in Sierra Leone
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/14/deaths-sierra-leone-mudslide-regent There have so far been 312 confirmed deaths but people are still digging through the rubble. Thousands of people are now homeless. It’s horrific, and to make things worse of all is that this was preventable. The horrible disaster was a result of carless construction on hills and terrain that was unsuitable just for the profit of the minister (a minsiter is the person who owns the land and gets paid to have people build on it) even though he was aware the land was unsuitable, he let construction happen away. This lead to hundreds of buildings being built on an unstable hillside and eventually crumbling. Keep Sierra Leone in your prayers.
please reblog, it’d be nice if more people were aware of what happened for when donations start becoming available (hopefully)
Are there any donations set up for the people, stores, etc? Or any organizations that are directly helping?
can’t find a donation set up yet; if you google it a gofundme created by Jessica O'Hara has been made to supposedly help but it does NOT appear to be legitimate so please wait for something verifiable to be set up if you want to donate.

I know I was taking a little break to avoid all the stress of the Charlottesville rally being talked about on tumblr, but I also wanted to make sure all of my Jewish mutuals know how loved they are. I know this is scary and sometimes it feels like the only people looking out for us is ourselves, but know that you are not alone and have never been alone. We are one mishpacha, one family, and we will look after each other and keep each other safe like we always have. I love each and every one of you. Remember, the whole world is a very narrow bridge and the main thing is to have no fear at all.
Goyim, please reblog this instead of all the performative “punch a nazi” nonsense. Make your Jewish followers feel safe.
LINKS TO DONATE TO DIRECTLY SUPPORT CHARLOTTESVILLE
I am a citizen of Charlottesville, Virginia. Today (August 12th, 2017) and yesterday (August 11th, 2017) our city saw violent and chaotic rallies by Nazis and white supremacists. Counter-protesters, many of them students of the University of Virginia, which is here in this city, met the Nazi rallies bravely. People have been injured and arressted. People threw bottles filled with cement or urine, and mace and tear gas filled the air. A state of emergency was declared, and store owners nearby cited having police in riot gear blocking the doors of their buildings.
If you wish to donate to directly support protesters, citizens, and minority students at the University of Virginia, here are four links for you.
Solidarity Cville Anti-Racist Legal Fund
#A12 General Fund
The Charlottesville Chapter of the NAACP’s PayPal
UVA’s Donation Page for their Black Student Alliance
These are all links in which the money is guaranteed to directly go towards helping Charlottesville citizens specifically, whether through legal fees, or through raising support and awareness for the minority members of our community. I especially recommend choosing either the Solidarity Cville Fund or the Black Student Alliance’s donation page.
Thank you for all the support being sent our city’s way. #DEFENDCVILLE
