Rewatching the Theia Arc, and This Part is so Funny to Me

Everybody is constantly asserting to Venus in these episodes that Theia is dead and that he needs to move on because she’s not coming back. Only for all of them (except Neptune) to then turn around and call Terra ‘Earth’.

Like, guys! You can’t tell him to move on if you yourselves can’t! 😂 😂 😂

Oh well. I guess as long as Terra’s okay with the name, that’s all that really matters.

Anyways. I want to do a full analysis of Mars at some point because this guy is an enigma to me. I feel like he’s supposed to be seen as somebody who’s very emotionally stable, but I just can’t reconcile that with some of his actions. My theory is that he’s just as insecure as the other Rocky Planets. The only difference is that he internalises his feelings of self-loathing instead of lashing out at others like Earth, Venus, and Mercury (to an extent) do.

I think that he feels guilty. I think that he thinks he failed Proto as a friend in some sense. I think that he projects Proto onto Earth (even if he isn’t fully aware of it), so that he can have a ‘second chance’ of sorts. A second chance to be a better friend.

And being a good friend is clearly VERY important to him. Every time he has a falling out with Earth, his main take away from the situation is that HE should have been more supportive and more present. I get his argument in the Theia Arc, but him not wanting to hang out with Earth after he insulted all the moons and refused to apologise is pretty reasonable in my opinion. Mars doesn’t seem to think so, though.

SolarBalls LGBTQ Head Canons

I’ve seen a lot of head canons for Venus being a trans man, but I’m personally partial to trans woman Venus. She feels a lot of gender envy towards Earth and Theia (and sometimes Saturn), but hasn’t unpacked most of that, yet.

Earth is aroace and pangender. He’s romance and sex favourable, but she still likes to make fun of the allos sometimes. I imagine that Luna doesn’t think about romance too much, because he’s too busy protecting the Earth, but after they met Titan, Luna developed a small crush on him. Luna’s also a demiboy with he/they pronouns.

Europa is pansexual and used to be in love with Callisto. This head canon comes from that one scene in The Battle Against Planet X where Callisto asks Europa is she stares at her often and Europa gets all flustered.

I imagine that Callisto is also pan and that they both used to date before they had a really rough break up. Europa used to be one of those people who doesn’t want to look bad by breaking up with somebody, so they instead start becoming absolutely unbearable as a partner so the other person has to break up with them instead. Europa got with Ganymede less than a month later and Callisto is still a bit salty about the whole ordeal. Europa feels bad, but still hasn’t apologised.

Titan doesn’t know what label to give himself yet, but he knows he isn’t straight. Earth was basically his celebrity crush before they actually met each other. Now he’s more into Titania and Luna. I like the idea of them being a throuple.

Saturn and Jupiter are very gay for each other. This one kind of goes without saying. They are a wholesome, old married couple.

Pluto is bisexual and used to have the fattest crush on Earth. It slowly fizzled out after Pluto’s reclassification and Earth’s constant mockery of said reclassification. Pluto spent 16 years crying over his heart break in the Kuiper Belt. His current love is Charon, and that’s going much better.

Last, but not least, Gonggong is a trans man. His deadname is Snow White, which is what he used to be called before he got his official name. Gonggong is pretty self-assured in his identity and has no issues talking about it. The other dwarf planet candidates are all accepting of him.
