Success Principle #2: Be Clear Why You're Here
Success Principle #2: Be Clear Why You're Here
"Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and
know that everything in life has a purpose."
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D.
Each of us are created with a vision, a purpose in life. I believe that everyone is on a mission to find or remember what one is meant to do in one's lifetime. According to Jack Canfield's Success Principles,"with a purpose everything in life seems to fall into place. When you truly are on purpose, the people, the resources, and opportunities you need naturally gravitate towards you. The world benefits, too, because when you act in alignment with your true life purpose, all of your actions automatically serve others."
Here is a Life Purpose Exercise that Jack Canfield has taken from a man named Arnold Patent:
The LIFE PURPOSE EXERCISE by Arnold Patent (http://arnoldpatent.com/)
1. List 2 of your unique personal qualities, such as enthusiasm and creativity.
____________________________ ____________________________
2. List one or two ways you enjoy expressing those qualities when interacting with others, such as to support and to inspire.
____________________________ ____________________________
3. Assume the world is perfect right now. What does this world look like? How is everyone interacting with everyone else? What does it feel like? This is a statement, in present tense, describing an ultimate condition, the perfect world as you see it and feel it. Remember a perfect world is a fun place to be.
Example: Everyone is freely expressing their own unique talents. Everyone is working in harmony. Everyone is expressing love.

4. Combine the three prior subdivisions of this paragraph into a single statement. Example: My purpose is using my creativity and enthusiasm to support and inspire others as we all freely express our talents in joyfulness, harmony and love.

Using the above exercise, I was able to generate the following:
My ultimate purpose is to serve the Almighty by passionately using my gift of creativity and ingenuity to inspire and empower others to realizing their full potential in an honest, fun and loving way.
"It is the soul's duty to be loyal to its own desires. It must abandon itself to its master passion."
Without a purpose everything would seem meaningless. And it would seem easy to be mislead and sidetracked in the journey of life, wouldn't you agree?
An equally powerful word and often interchanged with purpose is the word vision.Vision is view of a future that is yet to be. A vision catapults individuals and organizations to high levels of achievement and fulfillment. We create meaning in our lives by pursuing our future visions, and we refine our visions based on the meaning we are discovering through our experience.
We are all unique and therefore we all have our own mission to accomplish, a vision to manifest, a purpose to define. Though we may share our vision or purpose to others our vision and purpose is still unique to us. Only you see what you see. Only you know what potential or possibility exists.
Our vision and purpose gives us reason to wake up in the morning. It gives fulfillment to otherwise meaningless work. It gives meaning to all the minute details of our lives. It gives order to chaos. It makes everything seem perfect.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
I've picked up this book called FIVE WISHES authored by a guy named Gay Hendricks (co-author of Jack Canfield in You've Got to Read This Book). It talks about the conversation he had that changed his life forever. It involved a question. And by answering that same question, you too can make your dreams come true. But before that I want you to watch a short video made by the author by clicking here:

Imagine you're on your deathbed fifty years from now. Now, Imagine that I'm standing by your deathbed and look you right in the eye and ask you, "Was your life a complete success?" You might say, "Yes" or "No, my life wasn't a complete success."
1. If your life wasn't a complete success then what would be the things you'd wish had happened that would have made it a success?"

____________________________________________________________________
example: My life was not a total success because I rushed through it. I never stopped to savor the precious moments along the way.
2. Why is that important to you?

3. Now turn that wish into a goal, and put it in the present tense, as if it's happening at this moment.
