I understand you have other things happening, and it is a lot to do yourselves, plus the dropping numbers would be discouraging, but I would love it if you would perhaps do just a weekend again. Last year was the first I knew about it, and I was only able to do one day, but I loved seeing the other entries, and if you do decide to host it again I hope to be able to participate more. Anyway, that's just my two cents, I'm not here to pressure you and I think you should do what seems best.

It’s really lovely to hear from you! As we stated before, we still haven’t decided whether to go forward or not with Freeruka Week(end). We’re glad you enjoyed the other entries, but if you did one, then there were only three other entries not done by us mods for the whole event - and like we said, we can’t keep carrying it on our backs like this. We might make a post to measure interest but going from previous years there’s really no guarantees that anyone else will participate.

Hi! This is @howlingmoonrise​, co-mod and co-creator of Freeruka Week!

@sandmancircus​ and I have kept Freeruka Week going every year since 2015, but with the dropping number of participants we’ve already been forced to reduce it to a weekend instead of a full week last year. Even then, in 2017′s Freeruka Week(end) we only got four entries beyond those we did ourselves, and that’s for the whole event! From the very start most of the entries have been ours, and we were happy to keep at it as long as other people participated - which, sadly, is no longer the case.

We would love to keep it going! But both Sand and I have other responsibilities irl and doing the graphics/deciding the dates/spreading the word/handling voting/themes submission/etc is still a lot of work for an event that won’t have nearly anyone else participating, if this year anyone else would even join in at all. We always get plenty of votes and submissions for themes and people saying they’ll participate, but the number of actual submissions at the end doesn’t lie :/ 

Basically? We’re still debating whether it’s worth it or not to still host Freeruka Week. Thank you for your interest.

Summary: (Hades/Persephone AU) Eruka has held the title of Hades far longer than she cares to admit, and the years of monotony have begun to take their toll. Summary: When the frog witch Eruka finds her swamp invaded by a huge amount of idiots who have been banished from Death City by the evil lady Medusa, she must team up with a clueless werewolf who won’t shut up to rescue Kishin Asura and get her land back… And try not to strangle him along the way.

YES THIS IS A SHREK AU NO ONE ASKED FOR and listen, if you don’t think freeruka would be the best fucking possible SE equivalent to shronkey get the fuck outta my house.

“Ah, yes!” He waggles his tail. Waggles. His. Tail. Eruka wants to scream. “Excellent idea! I don’t like trespassers either - coming uninvited, staying for too long, not understanding when you throw them hints that you want them to leave-”

Eruka lets her arms remain pointing to the nearest KEEP OUT sign with raised eyebrows.

“-and then of course, there’s the awkward silence when they don’t understand what you’re getting at.” He laughs boisterously. “So anyway, where do I sleep? The bed’s kind of taken.”

Eruka lets her eyelid twitch. Just a little. “The bed is what?”

This scene just kinda popped into my head and I guessed saturdays themes fit it the best, since werewolves = spooky, am I right? Who knows, she might pull him into an embrace the next moment, so cuddle might apply too

FREERUKA WEEKEND DAY 2: Spooky/Cuddle

So for day 2 I did my take on a Freeruka zombie au. As you can see, Eruka ended up as a zombie. She’s slower than she used to be, but Free still loves her. She has gotten a lot kinkier with the frequent love bites (which makes him blush when they’re in public), but it isn’t an issue as he’s an immortal werewolf.
