Happy Birthday, The Wolf Man!
On this day in 1941, “The Wolf Man” ho-wled at the moon for the first time! While it wasn’t the first werewolf movie, it was the one that established all the Lycan-tropes we associate with the subgenre. Lon Chaney Jr. plays Larry Talbot with affability and charm… but he plays the tit-ular creature with absolute menace. The fog is thick, the mood is gloomy, and the wolves are hungry; it’s enough to turn your hair white! A primal pioneer, “The Wolf Man” is ho-wling success!
