Tis that time again! (Or rather, it was last night but then sleeping and adulting had to occur...booo)
Chapter 14 of Quid Pro Quo is up, in which our intrepid slowburn hurt/comfort heroes (i.e. radioapple) return home and start a whole new round of chaos
Alternate Quote: āAnd Dad! Youāre looking much bett-- Um. Oh.ā
Alastor turns his head to peer at Lucifer and has to admit she has a point. It may merely be the brighter lights of the hotel relative to the palace, but the Devil looks, well. āPaleā is a poor adjective when applied to Lucifer in matters of health, but perhaps āfadedā suits. He looks diminished compared to his usual brightness, almost back to how he had when heād first come to find Alastor a week ago.Ā
Itās enough to make one concerned, if concern was an emotion one normally succumbed to. Alastor is, once more, bewildered at himself.Ā
āSorry, I didnāt get much sleep,ā Lucifer admits around a well-timed yawn.
No, Alastor supposes he didnāt. He wonders, for a moment, if thereās anything he can do to ease Luciferās fatigue. Perhaps a spell or some energizing tea could be found? Those heād tried on himself while he was ill had all failed to help, but perhaps theyād have better luck on an exhausted angel than a grace-infected demon.
āYou were supposed to be resting,ā Charlie chides. āWhy didnāt you sleep?ā
āHmm?ā Lucifer asks with a slow blink. āOh, Alastor kept me up all night. I did get some sleep in his bed afterwards!ā
Bewilderment is no longer Alastorās primary emotion.
