The Tonto Basin in Arizona has seen countless sunsets and summer days, each bringing beauty and change to this extraordinary place. For nearly 10,000 years, the area has provided, and continues to provide, a home to many diverse people. Archaeological evidence suggests that ancient peoples traveled and lived among the cacti and cliffs here. Several Native American tribes such as White Mountain, Chiricauhua, and Tonto Apaches, Yavapais, Pima-Maricopas and more call this area home today.
