To this day, the most deep and intelligent conversations I’ve had in my life, the conversations that have real meaning or that address important issues and ideas (basically all the conversations worth having) have been almost exclusively with other drug addicts. Crack heads and tweakers discussing theories on bending the fabric of space-time or junkies debating the ways we could all come together as a species to help save the world and its disenfranchised masses. So many of us are so unbelievably far from the stereotypes you hear and what the world has taught you a drug addict is or should be. I have so rarely in my life come accross a drug addict who was not above average in intelligence and as idealistic or inquisitive as a student of philosophy. We are not who you think we are, I can tell you that much without a doubt.
