I was really blown away by how much this post seemed to resonate with others, so I wanted to share Cathy, my orange tabby, sleepy-eyed, cat plush, with you. Cathy is the plush that has been with me through everything. It might sound silly to some, but she's as real to me as any person.

I was obsessed with plushes from early childhood, but after I found Cathy at a Hallmark in the late 90s/early 00s, everything changed. Being an undiagnosed Autistic kid led to having a terrible time in school socially. When there was no one else, I had Cathy.

For over 20 years, Cathy has been here for every joy, new love, disappointment, heartbreak, success, all the meltdowns and shutdowns, through abusive relationships, and to shoulder...or absorb...so many tears.

My life has been full of more change and upheaval than I think is probably normal, but she's been a constant. She's been home. If I can have a few other things, my cats, my people, and Cathy--I am home.
