when corey graduated from university in 2016 she worked in the office of global criminal justice within the state department. her assignment was to process atrocity reports of US and allied coalition soldiers. she worked in the office for four years before she was recommended for transfer to the CIA by her superior.
her stint in the CIA was short but brutal. after only a year, and growing frustration with the inaction on verified and located targets, she requested to leave to pursue a master's degree.
while studying for her masters corey also published a few articles in specialist journals focusing on the use of open source satellite imagery in locating and identifying things such as mass graces or atrocity sites. during her masters program she was called by a former colleague, who now worked for a PMC, to give a subject specialist briefing. that was corey's first interaction with shadow company.
upon completion of her masters corey had a return offer from the CIA but also an offer from shadow company, she chose not to return to the CIA.
in shadow company she is a 'intelligence analyst specialist', she typically verifies the intelligence they are given for specific contracts, or for tasks directly assigned to her. for contracts that involve her specialty (atrocity crimes, war crimes, and acts of genocide) she's much more involved in advising and providing support to the operators.
