with this milestone announcement of GVF playing Royal Albert Hall, there's an influx of more people (I've mostly seen it on twt) sharing underage pictures of the band members that were stolen from private family members' facebooks, etc. typically captioned something to the effect of "do they know" or "can you believe they're playing RAH?"

and while its normal to want to celebrate how far the boys have come, and what a landmark this venue is for them, there are other ways. sharing underage photos of them, especially when they're not early band promo (ie; friends & family photos from before they were famous). THAT is still weird. and invasive.

maybe "Jake's demeanor has changed" because he's not 18 anymore, or 24, or whatever age he was when you formed your parasocial interest in him. maybe he's matured and feels more secure and seems less eager/outgoing cause he has nothing to prove. maybe changes in demeanor and personality with time are completely normal and you don't need to internet therapize him. and maybe, JUST MAYBE, you don't know him, or what he's actually like, at all.

Hi.

So I’ve been a bit radio silent on here, and for several reasons. Firstly, I’m distancing myself from this fandom and GVF entirely until they speak up about Palestine. I’ve stopped listening to them, it’s giving me the ick. Idk it just feels weird even looking at them now. I cannot listen to a band who doesn’t practice what they preach. I’ve been very disappointed on the silence from the boys. This is something that everyone needs to know about, and if they used their platforms for good, it could make an impact. Now I understand this could be for contract reasons which honestly fucking sucks. Knowing that Danny liked posts about Palestine on insta just rubs more salt in the wound.

If HANNAH of all people spoke up about Palestine, why can’t the boys?? I’m honestly very happy she took the time to post about it despite her past actions, I’ll give her that.

Secondly, my mental health has not been good lately. I’m currently being partially hospitalized for anxiety and depression. Earlier this week, I got an official OCD diagnosis, something I’ve been waiting to get for years. It feels incredible to finally have this clarity and I’ve realized that I’m not crazy, but I’m still struggling. I’ve been spending a lot of time offline to focus on myself, and it’s been beneficial for me. The program I’m going through is tough, but it’s also very healing, and I feel so grateful that I’m doing it.

So yeah, I’m still here but I’ll probably be more inactive. Thanks for the love on this blog ❤️
