I completely get this. Jake looked so happy with Mirador because I feel he could be creative in a different way than he is in Greta. There is nothing wrong with it. I find I am the same way. When I am working with my siblings, my creativity and how I work is different with I am working with others.
I think that Jake and the others really benefitted from the break they had. Not only from each other, but from Greta as a whole. I could tell the end of the last tour, they all where being worn down and it was difficult.
I think that they got thrown into doing work for Greta again and it is why we are seeing what we are seeing now.

But when he talks regularly I cant explain it. Its like this forced voice and he annunciate things weird its almost like hes trying to make himself sound more sophisticated in a way?
You guys. Its literally the johnny depp shit. Everything jake does is a reflection of johnny. Johnny talks like that too and hes literally from kentucky. The sunglasses all the time, the way he dresses. The mogging look he always does. Hes literally just trying to be jake depp. Theres nothing else to it to read into. And its not even a speculation, its BEEN a thing where jakes wanted to give off those vibes down to even the boys saying its his crush. Do you know how many people who dont know gvf and ive shown them and they go oh he looks like johnny depp. Thats literally it.

they dont show an ounce of their true personalities anymore, everything seems like a bit or overly rehearsed. i do think insecurity and discomfort with fame is probably at the root of it but dear god, it's so embarrassing to be a fan of them.
I will forever moss the gvf I fell in love with back in 2018. That ounce of fame that got in 2021/22 they went in over their heads and changed. I know this topic is ran into the ground but its so sad to me. They used to be so real feeling and now its all just another brand. I remember they used to wear the coolest stuff and be so excited to be like oh ueah we thrifted this! Yeah we love going thrifting when we travel! I got this at thrift store in whatever. And now they are like wearing costumes all the time. I mean sure you get some money and can change but shit look at adam sandler. The thing is it doesnt even feel true to them like it literally looks like theyre playing dress up. Im not one of those thats like oh my small band blew up wah wah. I e watched many of my favorite small bands blow up and stay true to them themselves and the small bands I like now I wish them success. But greta is one I truly wish never got big because it really did change them and it sucks. Its interesting though because they dont even seem to like the heavier spotlight they dont do anything to try and keep it up. It makes it seem like its purely for the money. They just want to push stuff so they can go buy lv and lip filler and blow outs and shit. Danny seems to be the only one who is a bit more humble in that aspect, minus the seemingly arrogant a t since hanging w dave more and getting his looks together which honestly cant blame him because if I glow up and ive spent basically my whole life as a shadow to not one but 3 kiszkas, id be a little cocky now too.

Noo media training would make them boring and like everyone else. I like that they still hold a bit of authenticness to them and arent puppets. I do think they could use some manners and act like 30 year men and not a bunch of fresh college students, but after become greta van fleet TM I I think I started falling out of love, this is like the last bit of actually them thats left. But I do agree they could tone it down. I dont think they mean to come off as rude they all just get so hyper and excited and then obviously the drinking doesnt help. But I dont want them to become 100% a robot and business.

it's so amusing to me how gvf will act like they don't give a shit what people think of them and act like they are above everything, when they clearly care a LOT about what people think of them and are trying soooo hard. from like 2017-2019 they still had a bit of authenticity to themselves and were just naturally goofy and fun (albeit still cringe at times), but after that they've just been forcing it and it's horrible to watch. and what's ironic is that with them doubling down to try to make themselves so likeable, they've become so much more unlikeable and have turned off so many potential fans. people used to just not like them if they thought they were copying zeppelin, but now they just seem like smug assholes on top of it. they dont show an ounce of their true personalities anymore, everything seems like a bit or overly rehearsed. i do think insecurity and discomfort with fame is probably at the root of it but dear god, it's so embarrassing to be a fan of them. i used to be proud of them, but now i dont mention that i like them to anybody because if i were trying to become a fan now, i'd be so turned off by everything they do.

How come once the boys come out and say something fans always have to make it a point they like it too? Like if one of them says they like a certain musical artist everyone all of a sudden feels the need to be like omg yes I listen to xyz too! I mean Josh could say yeah I really like to put ketchup in my chili and all of a sudden everyone woild be like yeah omg I love putting ketchup in my chili too, omg I do that all the time, omg hes just like me! Like is it a parasocial thing? Does it make you feel closer to them because you relate so you need to prove you like something they do? I dont get it.

it wasn’t a great interviewer, let’s be real, but sam calling her question pretentious then danny all candidly going “oh i love it, it’s why i do it!” sent me.
also, sam was giving jim carrey energy that whole event. i’ll leave it at that.
