First time participating in Inktober! Prompt #1 from Shourimajo's Inktober Witches, Rose!
A sketch from not too long ago when I was rewatching Inuyasha
I was in a water-coloring mood again this week ( âż âĄââĄ) After drawing a cute little cactus, I wanted to also draw a succulent, so I used this tutorial from Alisa Draws on YouTube to help me out. She is a little difficult to understand when she is speaking, but has helpful insight and creates a beautiful piece of art. With this succulent, I really wanted to have fun with the colors, but I was not sure how all my pencils would look, so I created quick little paint swatches by crosshatching each before applying a few dabs of the lightly damp paintbrush.
Drawings after some fun at LollaPLUza and celebrating Motherâs Day
The above is a drawing I did of Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin. I watched this show growing up, so it has a great nostalgic factor for me. I also read some of the manga and would say it is a great action-filled story with a good balance of both comedic and serious tones. This was drawn at the request of a friend :)
A few doodles done during classes. This first is from a drawing tutorial by @guilherme-rm on how to draw cartoony eyes. I donât think it turned out very well, but Iâll work on it. The rest was just me being bored or playing with my friendâs brush pen.
Sorry for the wait! I have been so busy lately that I havenât had the time to update. (・â˘Ě︿â˘Ě・) However, I have not been slacking! For Fan Art Friday (forever ago) I drew Inori from Guilty Crown. If I have time later, I would like to color this in, so this is currently a WIP. I just finished this show over the weekend, and I would like to say that overall, it was an enjoyable series. I was kind of disappointed by the ending of the second season though.
This is kind of how I felt about the weather lately. Wednesday, hot, sunny, perfect. Yesterday, Washington couldnât make up its mind. It was decent weather, then a storm rolled in and lightning flashed everywhere. It sprinkled, suddenly down-poured, and tricked you when I cleared up for 2 hours before doing it all over again.
Hereâs the tutorial I worked on for Tutorial Tuesday! You can find the reference sheet for creating these wrinkles in a long sleeve t-shirt from this picture on Pinterest!
Doodles from the weekend! The first is how I feel right now with too many papers and presentations have to be prepared within the next week >.< Over the weekend, my residence hall had their all hall event Fire and Ice, where we had BBQ and ice cream, along with lawn games, trivia, and performances. The last drawing is not a representation of me haha. I just wanted to draw someone with kind of droopy eyes, and it just fit the image of a sad person, so thatâs what her expression became. Oh well! ¯\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
For Fridayâs fan art, I drew Mikasa from Attack on Titan! I really wanted to draw Historia (if youâre caught up with the show or read ahead in the manga, you know who Iâm talking about ;) ) but I donât have the right colors of Marvy Uchida markers to do so with that medium. If you havenât done so, please watch the show and try not to get too attached to some of the characters or your heart wonât be able to handle it! Warning, itâs not for the feint of heart: the titans are scary and there is a lot of gore and bloodshed.
Just in case you forget this exists.
It exists.
With those âwhen you want to design a character but you donât know color theoryâ posts flying around I thought this would be relevant again.
SLAMs THE REBLOG BUTTON
thereâs also Coolors website that gives you randomized palettes!
Donât forget ColourLovers, either! Itâs a social media-esque site where you can browse tons of palettes and share your own.
You can browse the most popular ones or search for certain colors, themes, and even specific hex codes!
When you find one you like, you can download a wallpaper swatch of it and also select the specific colors it uses to look at more palettes that use those same ones.
ColourLovers is my go-to for when Iâm having trouble coming up with a color scheme! Itâs also been around for over a decade, so thereâs plenty to browse through.
For Tutorial Tuesday, I used a hair flow tutorial I found on Pinterest as reference. It was fun to look at and copy! Itâs good to look at if you want some variation in facial expressions as well :)
On Wednesday, I found this really cool video on Facebook of a traditional mochi maker in Japan, so I doodled a mochi and cup of green tea during class đ
