She can watch all of freddieismyqueen's videos that a few amazing people were able to save here as a Google download, or here on YouTube (I’m not certain they reuploaded every video to YouTube, but the Google doc has them all). They only go up to the point where Ellie was forced out of the fandom, so, I know people these days like CosmicLeeds' videos for timelines etc.

It's okay to still care about someone who has done something bad, it's good even! We SHOULD care about other people and not throw them away when they struggle! But creating a space where people think that if they acknowledge that harm was done they have to force themselves to not care just leads to denial because people don't want to take that drastic step, WHICH IS REALLY HARMFUL. Acknowledging that someone has done harm and is not themselves doing okay does not mean you have to stop caring and feel bad that you ever did or pretend they don't exist anymore: BUT DENYING THAT THEY DID ANYTHING BAD DOES CAUSE HARM. Saying victims are lying or attention seeking for talking about their experiences shows other victims what they can expect if they try to speak and leads to people staying in dangerous situations. Saying that someone who is charming and soft hearted could not also lash out and hurt or traumatize someone puts people in real danger if they believe that. Thinking that all addicts are Bad rather than it just being a struggle lots of people have leads to harm when you refuse to recognize the signs of addiction in yourself or people close to you because you think that's something for some other kind of people.

People do things that hurt other people all of the time, every one of us has at some point and will again. With compassion and help most people can and want to do better; but telling them that they are fine and don't need to change OR telling them that they are beyond help and worthless both do exactly the same thing, which is to discourage any change at all. It's not possible for us to fix Liam as much as we may wish we could: but it is an opportunity to practice for when someone in our life is an addict and /or hurts someone. And when that happens AS IT WILL TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US I hope that people can find a way to find that space that is neither throwing struggling people away nor enabling their behavior.

i just watched maya's tik toks and don't know what to believe

It's difficult because we of course don't have all the information. What I see in Liam is a traumatized person with multiple compensation strategies like substance use and possibly dysfunctional relationship dynamics. What I also see is that our society tends to excuse abusive behavior, especially when it comes from men, and tends to intensely question victims of abuse even though statistically, false accusations of abuse are relatively rare compared to the prevalence of abuse itself. I can see that Maya is emotional in her tik toks and know that a woman who is emotional tends to be taken less seriously in our society, especially if the emotion she's conveying is anger. I'm not trying to bash Liam and am worried about his well-being even though I have not followed him lately because his behavior has felt disconcerting and uncomfortable to me personally. I also believe that we have to take responsibility for our actions, especially if they hurt others, even if they stem from us having been hurt ourselves.

can’t imagine how it must be having people constantly asking for reassurance. I think people were expecting some kind of interaction between them, or spotted hanging out as ‘friends’ but I’ve just learnt to expect nothing. If people are here because they’re expecting them to come out sometime soon I think they need to rethink. They’ve obviously decided that’s not what they’re doing right now. They’re keeping private. They both seem quite like private people anyway. Even in terms of their families and stuff. Unless you run in their close circle or they come out together, we’ll never know for sure. I personally think there’s too much over the years to suggest they were together at some point. I’d be shocked if they were never together than if they were, honestly. There’s too much there. And regardless of if their relationship now is romantic or platonic, they’re keeping it private, and good for them. If you pay enough attention it’s pretty obvious they’re still linked in some way. Wayyy too many coincidences and similar themes and patterns. But they’ve grown and matured. and yes stunts suck but if that’s what they’ve agreed to do for their privacy, relationship, career, mental health or whatever else then that’s ok and we should respect that

I think the biggest issue right now that leads to disappointment and feeling “weak” are newer fans who want to find clues in everything and who develop theories that everything HL are doing is leading to babygate ending or the two of them coming out. Too many of them treat their lives like a puzzle to be solved or a game to be a part of.

Yes, at one point they really did operate that way. The bears really happened. Coded clothing happened. Warning selfies happened. Tweets with cryptic lyrics happened. I just think they’re not living their lives the same way they did then.

And yes, I agree with you. There’s so much that still connects them (songs that tell their story from two points of view, both talking about fame and their careers in similar ways, both talking about seemingly random artists or documentaries… there’s just a lot). I just get the feeling that these days it’s not as important to them to have their personal lives be at the forefront of things, so they’re keeping their sexualities and their relationship (whatever it is) for themselves.

It must be easier to keep your private life private and never mix it with your working life. I think they are aware of their role they could play in lgbtq+ youth’s lives (Bigger Than Me) but it has to be nice to have a personal life no one really knows about. That must have been easier for building a solid relationship when being famous.
