I made Ireena the church's gardener and a plant nerd so I could do more with "the land" aspect in my campaign. Also an excuse to give out my plant facts at the table lmao 🤓

Animatic For the last time - Strahd Von Zarovich and Patrina Velikovna --- I made this to reflect the story that we've written in our rendition of CoS and Ravenloft. Patrina and Strahd were lovers long ago. In our version, Strahd becomes a vampire long before the Curse started and hid his vampiric nature. He was gravely injured, and out of desperation Patrina brings him to the Amber Temple to attempt to revive him, where he makes a deal with the dark powers to become a vampire.

They are lovers in their youth and court but never marry. She is murdered before they can wed. Her death leads to a deep depression where he comes incredibly bitter and that is when he becomes fixated on his brother's bride, Tatyana. He kills his brother during the wedding, Tatyana throws herself off the balcony and the curse begins. His Tatyana obsession persists for centuries. Then, Patrina is revived by her brother Kasimir. She wakes up to a cursed Barovia where her love has gone mad, and seemly has forgotten her. This makes her extremely angry, and envious of Tatyana. She feels betrayed that he would not pine for her through time as he did for Tatyana. So the song really fits them. Solas promptly told me "Wow! That hurt to watch!" because this animatic visualizes what happened between them quite nicely.
