opportunities. [open]
Such a cruel joke — to be brought back to life upon death in like form as a certain shikigami girl. However, there rests no room for such sentiments in his mind as he wanders the streets in cautious investigation.
He still has to survive, after all.
Even in Hell, he has to live from day to day.
To him, living meant that his seizing an opportunity is a necessity.
Opportunity doesn’t create itself, though. In his experiences, he has to gather all of the necessary information and formulate a plan based around such knowledge. It’s the only way he was ever able to survive when he was alive, at least.
But, where would he even begin? The sight of dilapidated buildings and hollow city streets does little to inspire him. Not even a single careless child could be seen playing in the alleys.
A truly deplorable situation.
Good grief.
With his hands in his pockets and an unimpressed expression on his face, he continues his stroll. However, it’s not too much later that he spots a subtle movement. At least, he thinks he sees something.
Is this something an opportunity?
There’s only one way to find out.
"Pardon the intrusion," says he, after pausing his steps, with a confident edge to his voice. "Perhaps… there’s something you could tell me about this place."
People sought people.
Human, monster, demon, ghost-- what say you.
Anyone you could consider a person sought another person, be it for advice, communication, or simply the presence of another. People sought one another.
Such as the case of this meeting.
"Intrusion?"
"Please excuse my corrections, but you're mistaken on two counts here. Quite a terrible way to introduce yourself to another-- but, from this situation, I think I can understand why you might be a tad confused."
While not in hopes to scam another, when it came to the freshly deceased, the tanuki held some small sort of responsibility. Compared to her, they were still pristine-- not unlike what was probably the rotting corpse that her physical body was.
Of course, this was her spiritual body, probably.
That smell wasn't rotting, thank you very much.
But nevertheless, she held some kind of responsibility to aid the newcomers in their journey of physical deterioration, and spiritual enlightenment. ... Inwardly, the tanuki nodded in approval. That sounded pretty cool.
"Your first strike is your so-called intrusion. You're not intruding in any way-- after all... we're both outside, and I'm not busy with anything. Your second strike, however... is that you believe I can tell you something about this place. And while I indeed can..."
"I believe you yourself can tell you all you need to know about this place."
