indefinite hiatus.

hello! perhaps not the best day to post this considering it’ll get buried under memes, but i just wanted to let people know. there are a select few who continued to thread with me so i’d rather say goodbye properly. i’ve sent a drop message to the ML already and will be stepping away from this group and tumblr rp indefinitely. it is unlikely that i’ll return due to private reasons, but if i had to pinpoint something, i would say i just don’t have the energy anymore. i’ve been dodging the issue and tried to keep going for a few people, but i think it’s finally time to give it a rest. i’m exhausted and frankly too old for this shit — it’s a miracle i kept up with it for so long.

i have met wonderful people through this group and i’m insanely thankful they stayed in my life even beyond rp. unfortunately i have also met a great deal of... not so wonderful people, but that’s life. i hope the latter group finds inner peace and tranquility someday, maybe.

special shoutout to @mxonkxss​ who has been a delight to write with, replying even to threads that were months old with my snail writing speed. may we meet again somewhere else~

Whoops, a little too carefree there. Reign it back in, pretty boy. Okay, now he looks marginally presentable; like he knows what he’s talking about.

“Nowhere in particular; I was just thinking things over. It’s been over a year since we got together, no? It would be nice to move in together, don’t you think?” Jokes on you girl, this man is as poor as everyone else. “Well, that, and I found I moved one apartment down, and I don’t particularly relish the idea of moving halfway across the city from you should it happen next time.” 

❅ “It has been, hasn’t it...” She’s not the kind to keep track of these things, let alone something along the lines of an anniversary. Has it really been that long? Time sure flies. Huh. “Just say you dislike having even more doors between us, idiot.” Who knew mages could be so clingy? Not FrostNova. “I am... not against it.”

     “I wouldn’t consider myself to be... the normal image of a... house owner... Where did this come from?” Actually, it’s fine. He’s noble. He can afford houses. Plural.

“Yelena?” She muses, rolling the name over her tongue so she can familiarize herself with it. Honey has always been good at remembering names and putting faces to those names. “That is a SUPER pretty name!” She says, smile bright. 

“You’re also very, very pretty! Oh! What kind of shampoo do you use?” Because she noticed her hair is flawless and her hair smells nice!

     ❅ “If that is what you think... It’s not a particularly special name where I come from, though it probably does sound very like... Ursus.” If she introduced herself with her true name more often, would people make that connection? Who knows.

     She pauses and smiles briefly, though it’s barely noticeable. “I suppose I like your name too.” Whether or not it could be a codename shall be left as a mystery for the time being. “Ah... Thank you. Nothing special here either, I don’t care for it as much as I should. I’ll lend it to you if you like it this much..?”

She was staunchly fixated on seeing this endeavour through — and that would be admirable if not at the cost of potential harm unto others. Or the heat wrapped around the back of her neck was the trepidation that she was to become the victim by the invitation extended. Or perhaps more forceful recruitment, having already been determined a subject.

A glance towards the soup and back to the woman; she could flee, but that might only offer up someone else to take her place. Someone without the fortitude to survive the concoction, and would that goodwill last long enough to see them tended, or was this woman one to watch in fascination the thrashing of someone who had fallen for a prank of her design? “If something does happen, would that conclude your experiment?

Should it come to that, would you mind contacting Doctor Romani Archaman?” She’d have offered up the Ritsukas, but at least one of them might wind up taking the detour of sampling the soup herself, and that was a risk which absolutely could not be taken.

    ❅ Despite the rather defensive stance of this girl, she readily disclosed her name. A certain fear is written all over her young face, but FrostNova pays it no mind. “Where have I heard that before, I wonder... Well, no matter. It is my pleasure, Miss Kyrielite. You may call me FrostNova for the time being.” It won’t do to keep her own name from her now, anyway. ( But now she knows what name to give to the medics later. )

    Her questions are valid, albeit still from a worried point of view. The girl cannot discard her fears in the face of danger — and FrostNova wouldn’t taunt her for it, instead wanting to use this opportunity to teach her an important lesson. Maybe she can learn from this whole idea. Maybe not. Maybe there will only be sirens later; but who is she to worry about that now?

    “I suppose I could lessen the spice if someone does get hurt somehow, but I still firmly believe they stand to grow from the experience. You worry far too much about a scenario that may not come to pass. If anything—” But then there is mention of a certain Doctor and her sentence cuts off suddenly. “No. I refuse to speak to that man. How do you know him? What is your relationship with him?!”

He pauses. Is this like, a test? It’s definitely…a lot, but its palpable. And hey it’ll probably open up his sinuses. 

Shrugging, he then nods. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll do my best. I’m more worried about the hook, or the fish, shredding me. I haven’t gotten a bite for the past 45 minutes.” 

    ❅ “Shredding you? How come? I have never even heard of such a thing.” Not like the tundra was ever kind to her, but this one’s new, even to her. That he would even think about it is strange.

    Her weight shifts and she rises from her seat to take a look at the water — and the lack of biting fish. “I suppose you must be doing something wrong. Perhaps it’s your aura scaring them off?” Or hers, for that matter; but surely it can’t be the cold. It definitely isn’t the cold this time.

It’s a line of thinking that makes sense. To build up a tolerance would eliminate the issue altogether, but… was it so easy as that? To take this route of spartan training to taste buds? And her words added emphasis that it be a battle between those enduring and the hot sauce out to take them down. Suddenly, things felt a little too serious — wait, did she really have plans to turn this into a training camp of sorts? Well… anyone who fell into her target audience would have trouble contending with the blistering heat if they would have otherwise protested.

“Y— Yes, you have a point; milk would be a more suitable choice. We could store it in the snow, though I wonder if it would be possible to get some medical personnel in time before anyone attempts your challenge, to err on the side of caution. Someone is bound to bite off more than they can chew”.

     ❅ Silver eyes narrow at the girl before her — who is becoming increasingly more worried about the whole thing. As someone who is used to her reflexes being tested ( not to mention the harsh environment of her home in general ), FrostNova is hardly bothered by the potential danger she may put others in. In fact, doesn’t it defeat the whole purpose of weeding out the weak if they plan for emergencies?

     "Miss, what is your name? I believe you could benefit from being the very first subject to test my newest spice mix. Throw caution out and simply steel yourself. It is that easy.” It’s practically free real estate. “To demonstrate my goodwill, I will keep my phone unlocked so I can call an ambulance should you succumb to the exquisite taste of spicy soup.” There will be no ambulance.

Oh. Well, that’s helpful, too! Grinning, he takes the drink as well.

“Oh man, this is great. Thanks!” Real good deal. And really tasty…the spice goes down good. “But that’s a smart idea. I’ll accept– just don’t backseat drive.”

Mind over matter.

     ❅ This may be the first time someone has praised her spicy mixes instead of cursed her very being for them. It is so unexpected that she remains quiet for a moment; simply staring at him with a blank expression. Befuddled. “You think.. you think it’s great? For real?” Perhaps not all hope is lost in terms of culinary success.

     “Ahem. I mean, yes, of course, I knew it was great. Anyway, we have a deal then. As long as you don’t... shred the fish, I suppose, it’s fine. I won’t tell you what to do, probably.” That said, she takes a seat directly behind him and proceeds to watch his every move; as if ready to judge his technique.

Badou, bundled up and not exactly happy about being out here but darn him, he’s a nosy sap, he’s here. And yeah, the look he gives her:

Not impressed. But he grips the pole with his gloved hands and sighs.

“I dunno what to do with it..I mean to prepare a fish if I catch one. But yeah, it’s the least you can do if I’m gonna stand here like an icicle.”

     ❅ “It is meaningless to complain about the cold. Giving it any space in your head will only make it worse. Not that I would know, anyway.” Perhaps not feeling it has its advantages, but she does envy him in a really twisted way. Oh, how she wishes she could be that icicle.

     She walks over and sets down a steaming mug next to him without further explanation. Personal concoction, but it should keep him warm and distracted should he take a sip of her very own spicy blend. “I can prepare it. How about we make a deal out of this, then? You catch the fish, I make something good with it.”

Factoring in just the size of the source and its never-ending supply, an entire bottle theoretically shouldn’t make that much of a difference. There was no certainty just the properties of the sauce in question — what if she was referring to one of those flavours concocted specifically to challenge the endurance of one already accustomed to spice? Those with milder palettes could combust on the spot or flail in agony, reduced to tears as they sought relief. Desperate enough to reach for the snow at their feet. One could only hope the sheer volume would overpower any such ingredient.

“Maybe if there’s a warning, there won’t be any casualties? And some extra bottles of water, just to be sure. I wonder if the soup would purge the hot sauce through the same means that it keeps refilling itself”.

     ❅ Her initial response is a sharp exhale through her nose, as if she’s just heard a joke; funny enough to elicit a response, but absurd enough to suppress a chuckle. How anyone could spare concern for possible casualties when this is about culinary justice is beyond her — do people not understand the importance of spice? Perhaps she is simply built different. ( She is, she is, her body is. )

     "Your worries are misplaced. It is in everyone’s best interests to build up tolerance. Do not submit. Do not show weakness. There is only one way to determine the victor, and it is with utmost resolve.” She pauses here, regaining her senses for a short moment. “But if you are that concerned; milk works better than water in this case.”
