A Rose's Thorn:// Roski - Part 2
She thought sheâd die in all that sadness. Rose believed her death would be quick, like suffocation or simply her physical deletion from everything. Would the Doctor remember her if she ceased to exist? If Rose Tyler suddenly didnât live, how would the Doctor have been? Would he have found someone else to take care of him and to heal his wounds of the Time War? Was Rose even important? Someone couldâve done those things with him. Those memories, those lives saved⊠It didnât have to be Rose, just someone with a heart. Rose wasnât important. Rose could feel herself cry emptily into space. In all the nothingness that surrounded her, she felt worthless. Why was she even feeling? Shouldnât she be gone and erased? Why was she feeling so worthless? She just wanted to save him. The Doctor. Rose just wanted to save the Doctor. She wanted to find him and hold him. If only she could⊠she was dead. Her head was burning up at the thought. Really burning. She wanted to cry endlessly. Is this what death is like? Was she going to be trapped in her last emotion of complete despair? All she wanted was to get back to him. And when Rose felt her eyes flash open to a golden room, and her body in a silken bed, she knew she was more lost than she realized. ~~ âShe activated the Bifrost on her own.â The room seemed to fall silent. Someone activated the all powerful Bifrost? A human? Impossible. The Midgardianâs faint whimpers were heard, her hands clenched into fists and her tears staining her blue sweater. She was shivering, confused. The Asgardianâs exchanged glances, perplexity and unsureness clearly rippling through the chamber. âWhat do you mean?â Thor asked, his voice softer as if not to startle the girl. Heimdall spoke in the same tone,âThe Bifrost does not work without the Allfather or my assistance.â Lady Sif kept her gaze on the girl, before stepping forward,âBut sheâs just a girl.â âShe is not just a girl,â Loki whispered in response. But his voice was easily heard, and no one stopped him when he continued. For once, he went without interruption,âIn order for anyone to break the laws of space travel, it would be impossible to call the Midgardian âjust a girl.â â Lokiâs knowledge of the subject was great, obviously. He always did much reading, and tales of how the universe was created often led to the single name Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf was left all over time and space, the name leaving its mark to trace what it knew. The words were the meaning of life and death. It was powerful knowledge, and the power to create and destroy time⊠it was unreal. Regardless, the information on that would be kept simply a secret. Loki would tell no one the meaning of⊠Bad Wolf. âThen what is she!â Fandral exclaimed, walking closer to her. If no one would simply ask her who she was, he might as well. However, as the proximity closed between then, the girlâs lip trembled. âDonât,â Heimdall ordered from the platform,âShe is dangerous and an enemy.â Fandral shook his head,âShe wouldâve kill us in the moment she had us in our stage of shock. She is innocent and alone.â The Warrior glanced back to the girl, taking another step closer. âHello there,â his hand slowly outstretching,âAre you alright?â âAlways the womanizer,â Volstagg grumbled, shaking his head. His friend was always the first to get with the ladies in distress. âWaiting might be wise,â Hogun heeded, shooting a glance up to Heimdall, before going back to the girl. Fandral rolled his eyes, turning away from his target and snapping,âWell what do you expect me to do? Leave her here?â âTurn her in.â âLock her up.â âFind out what she wants from us.â âAnd then end her threat,â Heimdall finished, and silenced the mixture of voices echoing throughout the Bifrost chamber. Again, another silence washed over the various warriors and princes. No one knew what to do or how to handle it. She was a Midgardian, easily⊠But did she possess some other-worldly power? Was she something to cherish, or something to destroy? No one knew. No one knew how to handle the girl standing their, her glassy eyes looking at all of them but saying nothing. She stood there, afraid⊠But then, her mouth opened. âMy headâŠâ âWhat?â The room seemed to simultaneous say, turning their attention to the girl. ââŠitâs killinâ me,â The blond spoke, her words shaking and her expression growing more desperate. She sounded possessed, as if there were a metallic quality to her voice. All eyes were on the girl. And all saw her body collapse, cold and hard onto the ground.

A Rose's Thorn:// Roski - Part 1
She promised sheâd never leave him. Throughout these past two years of traveling in time and space, sheâs faced Cybermen and Daleks. Sheâs met ghosts, spirits, werewolves, and it was all because of him. Him. The Doctor. The man who screamed her name as she helplessly clung to the black rod with the last of her strength. The white light was sucking her body backwards, as if it were reaching out and viciously pulling her into its endless vortex. Her grip was failing, as if the material were melting under her fingertips and making it slippery. Rose Tyler gasped helplessly, the wind whipping her hair away from her face and drying out her eyes, despite the tears that were forming. The Doctor was desperately yelling for her. It mightâve been a valiant act to pull to level and open the portal into limbo. But she knew the moment she did it, that she would fulfill her prophecy. Sheâd be the solider who died in battle. Rose was going to face her last breath as her body mindlessly floated in an abyss of nothingness. Sheâd cease to exist. And regardless of all the terrifying things sheâs seen, nothing has been more terrible than this moment. Rose felt her chest become so hollow, her stomach practically evaporated within her. She would lose the Doctor- the man who took her ordinary life of being a shop girl and transforming her into someone who saved people. Rose Tyler saved lives and made people better, but now⊠sheâd die. And it was because she made her choice to stay with the Doctor. Mickey, her Mum, and Pete? Rose had come to terms with leaving them in sacrifice for being with the Doctor.. Rose was now going to die from that choice. But that isnât what bothered her. Rose would never see the Doctor again. She would never be able to tell him how much he really meant to her. She would never be able to hug him, or kiss him, or tell him how desperately her heart ached to be near him. The Doctor completed her in ways he couldnât image. She loved him. Rose Tyler completely and fully loved the Doctor and now⊠heâd never know. Every moment they had began to flash before her, whether it was them eating chips, or holding hands, or running⊠It was beautiful and special. It was meaningful and it brought her so much life. His smile, his hair, his hearts that beat with so much love despite how he thinks they are filled of hate. The Doctor could do so much, and Rose wanted to be there to do it with him. But she couldnât anymore. Sheâd save his life and the worldâs, and it was worth it. The Doctor could live on and be happy; he always managed somehow. So when she glanced over to him one last time, his arm reaching out to grab her, Rose couldnât help but collapse inwardly. She was falling now. She was tumbling into the vortex, and before she knew it, the image the Doctor and the sound of his screaming voice vanished in a white light. ~~ Heimdall was performing his normal daily task of watching over the Bifrost. Yes, he stood and watched the Nine Realms for any potential intruders, but when it came down to it, nothing ever went by him without a fight. He was the protector and sworn guardian of Asgard, and regardless of the strength of the enemy, he was always the first line of fire. Him. One Aesir. And often times, that was all it took to stop the enemy. It gained the Gatekeeper much respect and praise, for it truly seemed that nothing ever went past him. Of course, there was the one fault with the Frost Giants, but nothing had happened since. He also knew Prince Thor was planning to go and fight back, which too, would be an interesting encounter in a few moments. Heimdall saw them coming with his see-all abilities. Riding down the rainbow pathway to the Bifrost was Arrogance, Pride, and Stupidity in several forms. He saw them disembark their steeds, approaching him with the blindness of war. Heimdallâs golden hues stared straight ahead, seeing through their games and deceit with ease. âLeave this to me,â Prince Loki said confidently as the others stood behind. He calmly approached the Gatekeeper. âGood Heim-â âYouâre not dressed warmly enough,â Heimdall commented evenly. âIâm sorry?â Loki responded, although his tone indicated a statement. His face was clearly thrown off by the Gatekeeperâs words. Heimdall bluntly continued,âYou think that you can deceive me?â The Norse God laughed nervously, his lies rolling off the tongue in a way that he knew well, âYou must be mistakenââ âEnough!â Thor, the elder brother and future King interrupted. Loki instantly silenced. Heimdall knew this was their relationship. Thor was strength as Loki was words. Neither; however, had a sense of logic. Thor roughly asked,âHeimdall, may we pass?â âNever has an enemy slipped my watch until this day,â Heimdall spoke gravely, his eyes trained on the God of Thunder, and then his brother,âI wish to know how that happened.â âThen tell no one where we have gone until weâve returned, understand?â Thor practically commanded the Gatekeeper. It was as if he had no choice but to comply to his prince. Heimdall also heard a snide comment directed at Loki moments after he followed the team into the Bifrost. The dynamic of the group was nonetheless interesting. Heimdall walked to the center of the Bifrost, the large golden dome filled with sun-like dials along the walls and a central elevated platform. He was listening to the mindless chatters of war that echoed throughout the room, and knew that the team was set for failure. However, something was different. Something had shifted in all of time and space. It was not normal. âWait,â Heimdall spoke, moments before inserting his sword into the centerpiece that would activate the Bifrost. âWhat is it?â Thor bellowed, glancing backwards. Heimdallâs eyes narrowed,âMove away.â The next turn of events even surprised the Ancient Gatekeeper, for within seconds, the Bifrost began to activate itself. A white light filled the center, shooting upwards towards the center dial on the ceiling. Heimdall never showed emotion, but shock and disbelief managed to creep onto his face at this moment. The Bifrost was acting on its own! The white light torn through the dome, not in the way the Bifrost normally did with ice. It was almost like a fire, the way the light moved about. The warriors stood in awe at the sight, and then, what normally wouldâve been the colorful portal exit of the Bifrost, was suddenly white too. And out of it stepped a girl. A young girl with golden hair and glowing eyes. Her mouth opened, as did Heimdallâs, as they spoke simultaneously,âBad Wolf.â The girl had wet tears running down her face, her eyes blinking furiously as her eyes became a soft hazel color. Her body began to tremble. The white glow behind her only made her seem angelic when Heimdall spoke wearily,âShe activated the Bifrost on her ownâŠâ

The Doctor was restless.
Leaning against the car, Donna had been watching him pace for the last ten minutes. He would sometimes stop to run a hand through his hair, even grabbing some locks as if wanting to pull them out, then go back to walking with a deep sigh. She couldnât blame him, really, even if it was always impressive watching John Smith lose control.

Roski One-Shot: Guy Fawkes Day
In honour of tomorrow nightâs celebration, please enjoy Lokiâs first Bonfire Night.
âAnd the fireworks are becauseâŠ?â Loki eyed her inquisitively, not sure why he was expected to go out in the November chill to watch timed colorful explosions in the air. She kept referring to this âGuy Fawkes,â someone important enough to have a holiday named after him.
âHe tried to blow up Parliament back in 16-somethinâ-or-other, tryinâ to get the Catholics back in powerâ Rose explained briefly. âGot caught and met a violent and bloody end.âÂ
âAnd they turned this into a holiday?â He was shocked to say the least, celebrating the near destruction of a government building? Perhaps he had more in common with these people than he thought. Although having a celebration for something that didnât happen seemed a downright shame. Clearly, these Midgardians were unhappy with their government and this was some sort of protest. âAnd you do this every year? This Bonfire Night?â He needed confirmation before continuing to develop the fledgling plot that had taken root in his mind.Â
âYep, every year,â she confirmed, âitâs great fun, and somethinâ Iâve done since I was a kid. Weâll go out tonight and youâll see for yourself.â She grinned at him and he smiled back, though his own was far more devious than hers. He excused himself under the guise of having âthings to accomplishâ and she set about working on a few things for dinner with her family.
Itâd be his first real introduction to the Tylers, though heâd been living with her over a month now. Loki made for a strange roommate, fluctuating rapidly between sadness, anger, and a devilish sorta fun. It was the last one that Rose enjoyed, when he was in one of his mischievous moods they often had a lotta fun, the first fun sheâd had in a long time.
He occasionally took things a bit far, once rigging the shower so that hot was cold and vice versaâsheâd chased him down in nothing but a towel and heâd laughed as she whacked him repeatedly with a hairbrush, shouting obscenities with shampoo foaming away in her hair. But there were some truly hilarious things like the day theyâd both filled the courtyard fountain with laundry soap and watched the neighborhood kids squeal and shout with joy as the bubbles consumed the place. Itâd taken the maintenance crew a week to rebuild the thing and get it running properly.
Dinner passed peacefully at the estate, Loki got along easily with Pete and Jackie, being the charming man she knew he could be when it suited him. The two roommates left to watch the fireworks, Rose leading the way to a place she knew had a good vantage point, but required her Torchwood keycard to access so it wouldnât be busy as the streets were jammed with people. They sat on the rooftop and waited for it to begin.
Right on time the explosions started, the trouble was they werenât all emanating from the fireworks. Parliament lit up in an impressive fireball and a cacophony of thunderous destruction. Rose looked on in horror, as did the rest of London, while the building collapsed into a heap of rubble. Next to her, Loki was laughing uncontrollably, holding his sides as he cackled. He gasped for breath as he shouted âI havenât had fun like this in years!â She smacked him full on, right across the cheek. He looked at her, bewildered by the tears and fury he saw there.
âWhy celebrate a failure when you can create the victory?â He asked, still smiling.
