Some days...
Silence.
This blog has been pretty quiet the last few years, mostly because I haven't been working in the Antarctic. Also because I miss it and as much as I loved it parts of my experiences feel tender and sore to this day. With that said, I've noticed some new followers and shares and lots of loved photos lately. I hope to use that as part of my motivation to move forward and go through all 8 years of Antarctica photos I have, littarly thousands of them. And start posting more of them and writing about them too. So here's to keeping my best intentions.
Found a Dragon in my driveway.
Good morning from Vermont. It's been awhile since I've posted. Mostly because I don't work in Antarctica anymore.
Learn something new everyday.
A perk to working in Vermont is the great views on the way to work.
The paradox of photography that has always stuck with me is that images aren’t unique, you can reproduce them infinitely and there’s nothing rare about them. (that’s not my own thought, it’s this smart fella named John Berger’s) but the choice of and joy of recording a moment can’t be reproduced….what I mean is the most important part of a photograph is what you can’t see.
Yes.
Hanging in the weird Portland this week. Sure enough a goat on a trampoline.
Look at those eyes, such a cutie!
Bye Palmer! I’m home now back in VT, eating fresh food and enjoying life. Â
In Punta Arenas, one step closer to home. It's nice to be off the LMG.
Elephant seals have like the best eyes. Â
A fur seal being covered by the wind blown snow, with Mount William. Â
Job in Antarctica
This could be a long shot, but here I go. Â Are you or someone you know a licensed electrician in any US state? Â Maybe you worked at on of the other US Antarctic station and are PQed as an electrician. Â Either way let me know and I might be able to help get a job here at Palmer. Â All my pictures are from Palmer so that is where you'd get to work.
