It sucks because these little kids get so much more recognition from babymips when most artists on deviantART or tumblr try their hardest to get their art on the rebound. Take the big four fandom for example. I used to be in the fandom, and I mainly got my fix through fan art made with actual effort, the artwork that people spend hours spraining their drawing hands for. (1/3)
But honestly, I think the fandom went downhill after the Frozen fandom took over and anally raped it to stupid amounts of cancer. So now you get poorly edited babymips and awfully rehashed angsty drama fics raping the dashboard, and horribly composed high school comics riddled with irrelevant hashtags on Instagram. (2/3)
There was an instance last year, where some little shit took one of my drawings of the big four and purposely cut off some characters to make room for Elsa and Anna. I tried numerous times to get this kid to delete it, but they threw the biggest tantrum and tried to insult their way to get out of taking it down. They proceeded to call upon their followers to send death threats to my inbox. All for a fucking drawing. I left the fandom and I'm honestly glad I did.(3/3)
I’ll be honest with ya here anon. I don’t care for The Big Four or The Brave Tangled Dragons as it’s called. There’s no substance behind it. Nothing to hold it up and make it interesting for outsiders. It’s just one big shipper’s fantasy orgy and they can’t make up their minds as to what they want from it or where to go with it.
However you’re right. Babymippers do get more attention then actual artists. Especially here on Tumblr. I personally would rather seek out, reblog or fave original artwork than a babymip. IDC if the babymip has been touched up and edited to look unbelievable. I’d much rather give an artist attention for their hard work and effort for being original.

And it’s true. Kids in age ranging from 8 years old and well up into their 20s act like fucking apes online. It’s like the internet just sucked their brains right out of their skulls and replaced it with mush upon turning their computer on. And they’re just behaving like entitled barbarians just because they found something online and wanna keep it and can’t be hurt because anonymity.
In your instance, however, you could’ve avoided the sheep drama by just going straight to Tumblr and DMCA’ing your work from their blog silently. Sometimes if they won’t cooperate, a DMCA is all you need. When twats like this steal my artwork, that’s what I do. I give them 48 hours to comply or sometimes a couple more days. Then if they refuse or throw a temper tantrum, I file a DMCA. IDC if they cry, kick, scream, or guilt trip about keeping my work. They didn’t ask me politely if they could use it, and there for I’m taking it back by filing a DMCA.
But it’s good that you left. When you’ve had enough, your brain will let you know. You can’t make yourself sick over it. Not healthy in the least.
