Shaved Alex is his alter ego/ made up persona that he uses in performance/ publicly. He occupies the same space as ‘Real Alex’ but doesn’t own or operate the hotel (music). ‘Real Alex’ owns the hotel and designs new little pieces (the cardboard things) and oversees performance Alex through tv screens and security cameras. I also think the cameras and tv screens focusing on performance Alex is a commentary on social media + how the world only sees one side/ an idealised version of ppl through it (an idea explored in other songs on the album).
