Clips from 'Edinburgh or Bust' on 2nd Sept 1998. Backstage with Julian Barratt and Rich Fulcher (who's peering through a Rudi van Disarzio cut-out), Noel Fie...
Hello lovelies! I hopefully have something new for you—I’d certainly never seen it before. I present to you: the Boosh bits of a 1998 episode of Edinburgh or Bust, a program that followed certain comics through their Edinburgh Fringe experience. The Boosh boys are a bit incidental to the program (only in that they’re not one of the comics/acts being profiled) but there’s a brief clip of Noel talking about the comedian/agent dynamic at the Fringe (while Julian and Rich look on), and then we get to see the moment that Jenny Eclair presents the Boosh with their Perrier Award for Best Newcomer.
Some pictures to whet your appetite (as it was 1998, it appears to have been filmed on papyrus):
Also, I think it was before Noel’s nose was broken—what do you think? (left: 1998, right: 2000)
(Provided I’m correct, I’d love to see some Baby Boosh fic dealing with the nose-breaking incident!)
I put it in the Boosh Docs (Boosh Bits > Miscellaneous > Edinburgh-or-Bust) and posted it on YouTube for anyone that prefers that.  (I also re-uploaded a couple of things that got flagged; I replaced the first SU2C Bake Off with a 1080p version if anyone fancies watching it warts and all.)
Finally, some bonus Lee Mack and Ed Byrne (also from Edinburgh or Bust):
Hi, I absolutely adore your blog! It's my fav boosh blog ever and you're so precious <3 . I figure you might be able to help me. Do you know of anywhere that I could watch the Unnatural Acts episodes in decent visual/audio quality? It seems the only ones I can find on YouTube I can barely make out half the time. Tysm for any help and also for this blog! :)
as far as i know, they’re only available on youtube or booshdocs. boosh fandom, do you have any other resources for unnatural acts..?

This makes me simultaneously very happy and very sad
GUYS it’s Noel!!! he hasn’t changed much [x]
I’m not sure how I should be feeling about this photo
I have so many questions
Noel sits on the box, and is far too low - he tries to prop himself up with his giraffe lunchbox and ends up breaking Julian’s tub. The fruit smoothie gets spilt on the floor, Noel almost slips in it later in the show. Julian’s guitar is out of tune when he comes to sing the Morgan the Mammoth song, and Noel wanders off with a rambling showbiz tale about buying maps while Julian tries to tune it.
I weep for all the baby Boosh goodness we will never be privy to :( (via basooniverse)
