Joe Lally's incredibly unique and often reggae tinged basslines are some of my favorite.

Leland Skar's tone is aggressive and his playing really jumps out of the mix in this song.

Chris #2's bass playing is often busy and highly melodic typically building to a climax at the end of a song.

Greg Christian's typically deft playing will be missed now that he has left Testament.

Larry Graham's Thumpin' and Pluckin' changed the electric bass forever.

Lemmy's distorted tone doesn't get in the way of his often soaring bluesy solos.
im a beginner, and im looking at a bass online. the bass is not available in any stores near me and the i would be able to return it if it does not seem good. could someone tell me how/ what to check for after buying a bass online to make sure its not a lemon. the bass is an epiphone t bird classic pro, and i've gotten recommendations about it from some of my friends. thanks friends.
I have no idea how late I am responding to this message. Regardless, when it comes to purchasing basses I would always recommend playing them in person. Although you can always get used to any instrument it's nice to start with something that feels right. If you got your T-Bird I hope you're enjoying it!

Mike Dirnt's early playing featured lots of melodic leads. It isn't this prevalent in any other track during his career.
