Hello followers and other people who might read this!
I’m not going to beat around the bush. I need help of the financial kind. This isn’t easy for me to ask for because I don’t like asking for things when I can’t offer anything in return. This isn’t about me however, this is about the precious creature in the picture, so I have to jump over my own shadow so to speak and do this.
Background: A couple of years ago my Iggy Marsu started to have short epileptic seizures around every six months and the vet told me it was most likely stress induced and before we regularly stuff him full with medication and probably make him sicker than he is, we should wait and see how it develops as there is a form of epilepsy young dogs develop that goes away as they grow up.
Now things look a little different. He gets them a lot more often, almost every month, even while he’s asleep and the duration and intensity has increased by a lot which could lead to serious brain damage, leaving him more disoriented and exhausted than ever after. Before he would just shake himself off and get back to whatever he was doing before. Now he needs almost as long as the seizure lasted to get back onto his feet.
I talked to another vet, second opinions are never wrong I’ve been told, and she advised me to get him checked out thoroughly, including MRT, EEG as well as blood tests. so we can see what causes his seizures and treat them. Unfortunately they are damn expensive and I would never be able to afford them all on my own as I’m only working part time and haven’t been able to find a full time job so far.
It breaks my heart to see him like that and not being able to make it better because it’s a money issue. So if any of you have something to spare and wouldn’t mind helping me out, (the donate button is in the sidebar) I would be eternally grateful. If not, I’m still thankful that you took the time to read this and hope you maybe decide to give this post a bit of exposure by re-blogging it.
Additionally, if any of you have experience with seizures/epilepsy related to Italian Greyhounds or dogs in general and wants to share their stories/experiences/advice please feel free to message me.I would love to read them!
Thank you for reading/sharing!
