On December 5, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man attended the Maekyung Vietnam Forum as a keynote speaker.

During his speech, Lee Soo Man talked about some of SM’s future plans, saying, “Vietnam has a relatively young population, with 65 percent of the population being under 35 years old. Vietnam also shares some similarities with Korea in terms of culture and lifestyle patterns. I believe that we can help Vietnam grow economically by creating global stars and cultural content based on these characteristics.”

He continued, “SM will be looking for talent in Vietnam to launch an NCT Vietnam team and create ‘V-pop,’ just like how K-pop was built through CT (Culture Technology). We want to work with Vietnam to develop opportunities that will further develop their economy and industry.”

Lee Soo Man Receives Recognition For His Work In K-Pop At 2017 Kotler Awards

The 2017 Kotler Awards were held on December 6 at 3:30 p.m. KST at the Silla Hotel. At the awards ceremony, Lee Soo Man, founder of SM Entertainment, was awarded the Best Management Award and was recognized for his work in leading the global Hallyu wave and the growth of K-pop.

The Kotler Awards is a global marketing awards ceremony named after Philip Kotler, a professor nicknamed the father of marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. The awards ceremony celebrates businesses or executives who lead in customer value or are pioneers in their respective markets.

This year marked the first year the ceremony was held in Korea, and was co-sponsored with the Korean Marketing Association and Dong-A Ilbo. The recipients of the awards are decided upon by Professor Philip Kotler as well as other judges comprised of domestic experts in academia and the industry.

The Best Management Award is one of the only individual awards and recognizes leaders in global marketing. SM Entertainment recently extended their work into the advertising industry, solidifying their place as a global business leader in content and marketing.

He has been innovative in his involvement in the entertainment sector, and has introduced a system which has allowed for the growth of the mainstream music industry. “SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo Man To Provide Hawaii Vacation For Entire Company ”

On July 26, SM Entertainment announced that its founder and former president Lee Soo Man would be sending the company of 350 staff as well as its singers to Hawaii for a unified conference in August. All the celebrities housed within the agency such as BoA, Super Junior, EXO, and more will be attending the convention. In order to make sure everyone could attend, SM has planned all of the schedules in advance.

The conference not only signifies SM’s 20-year anniversary, but will also be considered a large-scale workshop. Due to the size of the conference, the agency is currently reserving a charter plane, hotels, and transportation. A source from the agency stated, “Because this event holds a lot of meaning, most of the artists in SM Entertainment as well as their staff will most likely be attending.”

Lee Soo-man, the founding chairman and producer of South Korea’s S.M. Entertainment, and its artists won big in China’s top annual music awards, the entertainment agency said Sunday.

Lee became the first Korean to win Asia’s best producer during the 15th Music Feng Yun Awards held in Shenzhen, southern China, on Saturday night, S.M. said.

Finishing off their second solo tour, EXO held their encore concert, “EXO PLANET #2 The EXO’luXion [dot]” was held at Seoul Olympic Stadium on March 18-20. On the last day of the concert, EXO’s Lay talks about the respect he holds for Lee Soo Man, who was in attendance.

In front of all the fans, Lay says in both Korean and Chinese, “Today, teacher Lee Soo Man, someone I extremely respect, is here today. Because I respect him so much, I want to know him better. Because I want to know more about him, I want to learn from him. I want to challenge him just as much as I want to learn from him. Throughout the concert, Lee Soo Man watched the performances with an affectionate gaze, and supported the EXO members with his cheers.
