"Luxette (a portmanteau of the words "luxury" and "coquette" ; not to be confused with "luxe grunge") is a modern subculture fashion movement started by two American designers, Samantha R. Crossland and Megan Maude McHugh, as a way to protest the mass market clothing worn by youth in the early 2000s and a way to bring back "classic beauty". It centers around structured and tailored clothing with its aesthetic deeply rooted in 18th and 19th century clothing as well as fashions from the 1920s-1960s. Megan and Samantha viewed the current trends in fashion as "lazy due to the need for inexpensive instant gratification." Luxettes (and their male counterparts Luxeurs), care deeply about beauty, modesty, class, libertinism, art and indulgence. They throw themed parties, invest in heirloom quality pieces and try their best not to surround themselves with disposable items."
I hosted a lolita panel at MomoCon this past weekend, and so I made a new dress. I really love this dress, but I’m not overly wild about this coordinate. I feel like the shoes and tights don’t jive quite right with the plaid. However, I’ve wanted a dress like this for a long time, and now I finally have it. I think like the lace-up sides on the bodice came out really well. ^^
Don’t comment until April 25th CST or you will be disqualified!
These two dresses will only be made two more times each. Comment below them on the Blasphemina’s Closet FB and I will PM you to complete your payment. If your payment is not made, the next person on the list will get your spot.
The cost of the lace dress is $415, the cost of the embroidery dress is $520
Good luck!!
