MASSIVE COLORING TUTORIAL.
i’ve been asked countless times on how i color my caps, and the truth is that it is very strange and next to impossible to explain, but i’ll try my best. if you have any questions feel free to spam my ask and i’ll try my best to help!
EDIT: as of late i’ve gotten some questions about this tutorial, please look here to see how psd’s work and what they are for and here for how to drag psd’s onto an image. if you need something else explained send me an ask and i’ll post it here!

PSDs???? wahhh, so confusing...how how how do you drag the group layer into the image? it isn't working for me!
when you open an image there will be a tab at the top. fist click and drag the tab out of your workspace so it “floats” and then select the group and drag it onto the image below it.
can you please explain what the point of psds are? what are they used for and HOW do you use them? thanks!
meep. i am horrid at explaining things, let me try this and i invite my followers to follow up on it if they like. psd is short for “photoshop document” aka the format your files get saved as when you’re working with photoshop. this could be anything at all but when graphic makers are talking about them they usually mean a photoshop document with an assortment of adjustment layers in it. adjustment layers can be used in photoshop to adjust brightness, colors, vibrance, and many other things on the image(s) below it. for example adding a brightness adjustment layer on top of an image will make the image brighter. psd’s are a mix of these adjustment layers used to give an image a desired effect. for example you can see the before and after of using a psd on this gif of amy:
to use them, open the file with your downloaded psd in photoshop and open the image you want to put it onto. then just click and drag the “group” layer onto your image! not all psd’s look good on everything so you may have to try a few different ones until you get something you like (i have about 50 saved!). you can also click the little down arrow next to the folder on your group layer to view the individual adjustments, you might have to change these a bit or make some of the adjustments invisible to find something you like!
anywho, hope that helps, if you have anymore questions let me know!
you will need:
The Video (the video should be in MOV, AVI, MPG, MPEG, OR MP4 format)
Photoshop (i used CS5 in this tutorial)
final result:
if the pictures are too small, open the pictures in a new tab.
first step:
Open Photoshop. Then go to File > Import > Video...
